In the family Jyoti is only working so her mother Padma does not want Jyoti to get married before her other child get establish in life. So she made false Kundali to show Jyoti as manglaik so she does not get married.
Jyoti's first younger sister Sudha is a shy and introvert girl who is doing her graduation in private and loves her Jyoti didi very much. She wants to get job to help her sister but can not get because of her shyness. But there is an another side of her character. She has dual personality disorder .She becomes Devika her alter ego in night, who is exact opposite of Sudha .
Her youngest sister is Sushma who reads in school. She loves Jyoti did a lot and Jyoti did is her hero, She wants to become like her Jyoti didi.
Her only brother deepu is a spoilt brat, as he is the only male child his mother and Dadi pampers him a lot. He takes her sister's money in the name of tuition classes but spend them with friends like gambling.
Then comes the Vasishts . In the family of Pankaj there is his parents Mahendranath and Gayetri who are fun loving and good persons . His younger brother Pratik and his cousin brother-sister Uday and Meenal . And Uday and Meenal's widow mother Bhairavi . who is called as Choti Maa by Pankaj . CM is a power hungry lady and who family runs by her instructions .Panakas obeys her more than his own parents. Cm from the first day does not like Jyoti , she thinks Jyoti is marraying Panakaj for his money.
CM always tries to insult Jyoti in the house. Jyoti gets to know that Sudha has actually got a double personality. She is soft spoken Sudha at home and party girl Devika at night due to a multi-personality disorder. Sudha is then helped through this by the help of Jyoti's psychologist, friend Kalpana after this Sudha falls in love with Pankaj's cousin brother Udai and they get married secretly, which makes CM angry . Though she agrees to take Sudha in Vasisths house but her hate for Jyoti increases.
However to add to Jyoti's problems she finds out that Sushma is having problems living with Brij, he is drinking a lot and is abusing Sushma. This problem is solved by Jyoti bringing a pregnant Sushma back to her parent's house, this makes everyone think that Brij is going to keep his distance but he doesn't and he is back.
He makes up a new plan to hurt Jyoti by becoming friends with Pankaj. Soon Sushma and Sandeep make a plan. The plan is for Sushma to go back to Brij. Then the police get Brij arrested. And it hasn't finished here. Jyoti tells Pankaj all about her sister Sushma and Brij.
But Brij manipulate the situation and Pankaj for his big ego insults Jyoti and throws her out of the house.
Little does he know that Jyoti is pregnant. He learns about this later on but still doesn't want anything to do with Jyoti and therefore files for a divorce with the reason for the divorce being that he believes that he is not the father to Jyoti's unborn child.
Pankaj is still seeing Jyoti but isn't forgiving her. He has said I will say nothing about what has happened if you do, but still he doesn't want to get back with Jyoti. Jyoti and Pankaj don't get divorced. This means that Jyoti and Pankaj will get back together. Jyoti is now divorced. She has met a man Kabir who she works with. Her family is not happy with their relationship after a few weeks. As her divorce has only happened. They go cinema take rides everywhere it is causing chaos to the Sharma family. When Kabir makes it up to the Sharma family he is allowed to hang around with Jyoti. Kabir meets Brij. Brij now has cancer. Kabir makes Brij straight as he wants Sushma and his baby back. They get married once again in a big celebration. On the day of the wedding Kabir proposes to Jyoti she says a lot of things to him but doesn't say yes. Sushma and Brij are very happy and hoping that their baby is due soon so that they can live a very happy life. One day after the wedding, Kabir and Jyoti are walking and they see that someone is about to rob Pankaj's money and shoot him. Kabir sees this and jumps in front of Pankaj and takes the bullet instead. He is fine but Jyoti is now having regrets about saying all those things to Kabir. Jyoti has realised that she too loves Kabir and is now getting married to him, much to the chagrin of Pankaj who wants Jyoti and his child back after knowing the truth from Brij. Jyoti goes to meet Pankaj, but she soon finds out that He wants the baby, and he says that he isn't going to let her go until she has the baby, (so he can take the baby), Jyoti tries to escape, but as she reaches the stairs, Pankaj grabs her, Jyoti tries getting away, but she ends up falling down the stairs. Jyoti is badly injured, Pankaj takes her to a hospital, where the doctor tells Pankaj that they can only save one person the baby or Jyoti, also Kabir and Sandeep go to the police to write a report on Jyoti going missing, Pankaj , makes a disition, he signed for the baby to survive... Luckily for jyoti, she had an operation and both of the humans can live. jyoti and the baby. later, sandeep and kabir visit the hospital after pankaj telling them jyoyi is in hospital. they see jyoti and the doctor announces that there is bad news. the baby is dead... the real truth is that pankaj told the doctor to say the baby is dead when actually pankaj took the baby. everyone thinks the baby is dead and jyoti wishes she had a child. chuti ma is angry at pankaj and wants him to give the baby back. Finally, jyoti is getting married to kabir after their romantic love. Jyoti and Kabir are happily married, but is there something stopping Jyoti from entering her new house? Jyoti now lives in a haweli against her in-laws wish. Actually Kabirs chachisa wants him to get marry to her niece. Now chachisa plans to get rid of jyoti along with bhapusa and sumer bhaisa.
