I personally feel that music WAS more aesthetic before. People paid attention to the beauty of the lyrics and enjoyed it. There were a handful of music directors and singers who were in limelight unlike today where people cannot keep a track of playback singers and music directors. Not that today's generation has more talent and the yesteryear's had a few. People those days had to be exceptional to win the hearts of audience. That is why Rafi, Kishore, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha, Mukesh, Manna Dey etc are remembered even today !!
I consider the present generation music to be TIME PASS. People are now really busy striving for fame, money and attention that they listen to music for a few a couple of minutes .. to perhaps relax ! Unlike the old age where crowds sat for hours, sometimes whole night to hear these musicians sing and perform. The influence of Western Music is also a reason for why people are so restless today. Most people even multi-task, work and simultaneously listen to music with ear phones plugged on.Needless to mention, there are a few people who are serious about music. God bless them 😆 😆 😆 .
