Helloo :)

So I was wondering, is there anybody from this forum whose not married and would go and live with their boyfriend? especiallyyy back in India?

I find it funny how they always show people from America or Canada or UK being "Americanized or white-washed"

I know that alot of people are white-washed, but not to the extent of living with their boyfriend especially if they go back to india!

Don't get me wrong, I actually LOVEEE THIS SHOW alot! just wanted to know your views on this subject :)

-Thank You

yeah even I don't like the fact how indian shows who are non-leads and are NRIs portray them to be. 😕

many indians go live abroad, be it america, canada or the uk and they still have their culture & background firmly in their hands. they do not get "americanized" or "whitewashed" like you mentioned. yes, we do adjust to the lifestyle here thus, when coming back to india there are some differences ... that doesn't mean we forget our traditions right? 🤔

don't know why indian soap operas portray that ...

I still don't get why she is living or staying in Anu's house...I mean doesn't she have any family of her own in India to stay with and if yes why can't she jusst get herself a rental apartment till she is ready to go back or till after their wedding (if the wedding does happen) anyway it's an Ekta show where anything goes be it real or unreal.

I always get annoyed by how movies and shows portray NRIs...I mean I was born in India but I would never go against my culture and tradtions..like her I would never live-in with my boyfriend (if I had one)

heck sometimes I think my cousins are way more westernized than I am....and I'm the one living in US!

but Gauri its not only BT shows....its every show and every movie that show NRI or indians living in America

yeah Tani Pardon me for going after BT show only, I did that cos I did not want to bring in another shows here in other not to start a fight.

anyway u r right all other shows does it as well and I think it's time they stop showing we NIR as shameless people because ain't like that at all and the face that we don't live in India does not mean that we have forgotten out culture and background.

and u know what when I saw creeping in to Anu's room to wish him Happy Birthday I was like God please let not be her just let it turned out to be robby but it was her.

so what u want to wish him Happy Birthday call him on ur phone.

^I totally agree with you....I hope that it would have been either Ananya or Robi (Ananya because I felt she could have remembered how he did that to her on her b-day 8 years before)

but of course it had to be her....I mean I dont mind that stuff......even Indian people arent THAT backwards (atleast in Mumbai they arent..from what I've seen when I visited 2 years ago)....but it was the fact that she said "American style- Indian style romance"....that was just plain wrong and disgusting (because obviously she was referring to *something*)

Interesting. I know that you all realize this, but not all Americans have loose morals. There are some of us non-Indians who believe in chastity before marriage and complete fidelity within marriage. The percentage may be dwindling, but we are still here!
