t's entertaining especially when you see heroines with 'coy' screen images venting out their feelings all in a bid to show 'we can do it too'.
Meethi Choori No. 1 Saturday, 10.00 pm, Imagine Eight prime time heroines - an assortment of vamps, Miss Goody Two Shoes and sultry sirens - flash their claws and bitch out the rest as hosts Shabbir Ahluwalia (with a funny drawlish accent, guess he got it from Salman Khan) and Jay Bhanushali have all the fun soaking in the action. Imagine's Meethi Choori No 1, an Indian version of Women Who Rant, has the women letting down their defences and going all out to be one up on others in the gossip/fun/bitching department. While a couple of them are boring (read Yami Gautam of Yeh Pyaar Na Hoga Kam and Veebha Anand aka Sugna of Balika Vadhu who came in a really short dress with a plunging neckline prompting veteran Rakshanda Khan to say, 'Iski dress upar se bhi crop hui hai aur neeche se bhi'), the others are clearly having fun. So you have Urvashi Dholakia in her sexy bare-backing gowns, Karishma Tanna in her short dresses, Khan just baring her long talons pitted against the newer bunch, Ragini Khanna who says everything with an infectious guffaw (we think she rehearses that laugh of hers in front of the mirror!), Neha Marda who despite her petite frame is quite a shocker with her seemingly innocent but scandalous lines and Rashami Desai, who was ragged quite a bit by the seasoned lot for her Bhojpuri past! Coming to the format of the show, the girls indulge in harmless banter complete with bitchy comments and pulling each other's leg. The two guys then give them a question like 'Who among these can steal your boyfriend' to which they have to rank themselves and each other on a scale of one to eight. Eight here means the girl is least capable of stealing someone's boyfriend and one means she could just do it! So naturally, no one likes to be No 1. Then one of the girls (selected by a chit from the bowl) reads out her rankings and the floor is open to a spicy session. It's fun while it lasts. Though we wish one of the episodes had only the veterans or the newbies. It would have led to more friction. It's entertaining especially when you see heroines with 'coy' screen images venting out their feelings all in a bid to show 'we can do it too'. And though Urvashi, Karishma, Rakshanda, Mona Singh are good entertainers we wish the makers had got a Sakshi Tanwar or a Shweta Tiwari sparring with the rest! The repetition of a few faces is a downer… Shabbir and Jay are perfect for the show. While Shabbir with his blas sex appeal scores, Jay with his inherent school-boyish charm is a nice support.

While Meethi Choori No 1 may not be everyone's idea of a good weekend show, at least to see these prime time pati vratas shed their clothes and inhibitions is a good enough bait.
