The recent episodes of Zee TV's historical show Jhansi Ki Rani have made it evident that the king of Jhansi, Raja Gangadhar Rao is planning to remarry.
Rao fears that Lakshmi bai can't conceive the heir apparent of Jhansi and decides to remarry. His decision has resulted in sleepless nights for both Rani Lakshmi Bai and her father. The new character of Ganga will be essayed by Benaf Dadachanji, popular as Baby of Baa Bahoo aur Baby.
Informs our source, "This is a cameo which will last for a month and a half. The character will be called Ganga who happens to be Dai Maa's grand-daughter. Gangadhar will decide to marry Ganga for the second time hoping that she will bear the heir to the throne of Jhansi. But somehow the marriage doesn't take place. Apparently, Ganga will suffer from split personality disorder, however the track is yet to be worked upon."
Benaf confirmed the news and said, "I am commencing the shoot from tomorrow. The role is challenging for me as an actor as it's nothing like Benaf. My character in Baa Bahoo Baby was easy to essay as it was of a girl next door and anyone could relate to it but Ganga isn't a normal girl. She is a part of history. The role will be difficult for me to portray and will help me learn acting all over again. It seems as if I have forgotten how to act."
A travel buff, Benaf was globe trotting all this long and it was only in the month of August that she felt coming back to the world of acting. Says she, "I had been traveling after Baa Bahoo aur Baby ended. It was only last month that I decided to get back to acting and started looking for offers. I liked this role as it's a cameo and is very challenging."
