I think its a matter of personal interest and taste u prefer glamourous and romantic type serial so u wont like any Paki drama no matter how good it is while some prefer realistic serials so they wont like Indian serials at any cost lol so the debate is never ending i guess😆
I can watch both though Indian for cutee romantic jodis and Pakistani for awsome and realistic storylines😃

it depends to be honest... when i am in a mood to watch some realistic drama with a quality story, a drama that we can relate with easily, fine acting, and one that ENDS soon.. with not much OTT stuff.. then i watch pak dramas... that's the characteristic of pak drama - good story, short and simple, and very realistic...
when i am in a mood to just watch some cute romance, or some good looking actors, some awwww-worthy OTT cliche style romance... ya drama... a drama that doesn't end soon, one in which i can see my fav couple for a long time in all sorts of cuteee lovey dovey scene... tab i watch an indian drama..
both have their own diff. sort of appeal i wud say, since i have been watching both since quite a long time.. yea indian dramas can be a bit OTT at times, specially ekta ones.. but most non-ekta dramas are not that bad.. for eg starone dramas are bery youth based... cute stories....very good looking actors and actresses... the good factor abt indian drama is their actors, and the fact that becuz they r long running - they pay even minor storyline angles major detail.. for eg in a love story, they wud play it out in full detail.. with many romantic sceness b/w the lead couple... in a pak style love story - the couple's personal lives wud always be behind the camera..and only the overall story wud be focused on... and plus indian dramas have real good editting, camera effects, sound system... production and direction mein they excell like mariam mentioned above..
so.... short span ka meaningful content-based drama dekhna ho toh pak drama dekho.. and agar full of romance lovey dovey cliche story but good looking cast and some fantastic editting special effects type long running sa drama dekhna ho to indian dekho.. i watch and like both :)

I totally agree with you. In the end, its about glamour vs. reality. I personally think, the glamour shown in indian dramas is attractive at first, but after a while you get the idea of where the story is headed. I used to watch indian dramas earlier but then there came a time when I knew what was going to happen or what could happen and it became quite boring. Pakistani dramas, written by good writers and/or based on novels are the best. You can never predict whats going to happen. On the other hand, there is dramas like Tere Phelu main; I dont quite understand why its even on air yet, how do people still watch it with its unbelievably poor acting and pathetic story line.

u forgot to mention.. Ye Kaisi Mohabbat Hai here too.. 😛

I think, the major difference b/w Indian and Pakistani serials is their duration.. paki serials are usually short so the writers have to show each and everything in short or to the point..bohat si baaton ko hamein khud se samajhna padta hai ke.. achcha chalo, aisa hua hoga.. whereas, Indian dailies run, purely on the basis of its popularity.. if a serial is hit.. samjho it will run till eternity.. jab tak major drop nahi aata TRP mein, that serial chalta rehta hai.. now, in this scenario, their writers are helpless for giving extra detail of everything.. if u pick up any Indian serial, its basic story ends within 6 months.. after that everything gets dragged..

now same thing happens with TPM & YKMH too.. both are never ending dailies.. if the writers know that they will have to write atleast 6 months further with the same characters.. then what can they do..

indian movies are batter than pak
pak drams are way batter than indians
indian drams are way too unrealistic
sometimes i think their writer write the stories while thy are in deep sleep
