Anurag's present state of mind ( formal behavior to Taani, and seeing her as only a close childhood friend) is because of his childhood separation from the family, from Taani, Laboni, friends and from his country.

It was as if he was suddenly uprooted from Kolkata and planted in a foreign country- all this was very traumatic for him as a child, and more so to see the harshness of his father. Being a responsible person, he did not choose the evils of the western society and focussed on his career. But definitely he knew what is right and wrong. The western education further has taught him to stand on his feet, think for himself, speak what is right without fear, and with time/ maturity he will understand more and think more.

The childhood trauma, sorrow, frustration ... all have made him a hard person. In addition to that his male ego is also coming on the way, so he is presently rejecting his heart's emotions and reacting only to his mind. Time will only make him realise "Who he really is?".

In the meantime, Taani will have to suffer and wait with the thought that "If you love someone then set him/ her free, and if it is true love they will eventually come back". The question is when ????????????💔
