It definitely did. One apiece for Pankaj and Aamir. The other was for editing or cinematography. It was actually a fairly decent movie but did it ever have annoying background music. Aamir was not particularly convincing but it was a very good attempt for a newcomer. What is amazing is how far Aamir has come since his Raakh days.

Jawani Zindabad - I think it was about the rite of passage of young men. His character refused to give dowry for his sister's marriage (he's a member of the Anti-Dowry organization) which angered her in-laws so they tried to burn her but her mom-in-law gets burnt instead. They try to frame her by saying she attempted to murder her and Sashi is out to prove her innocence. Oh and in between, there's some unconventional romance between him and Farha --> she gets jilted at the alter but her spunky attitude makes him fall for her. It wasn't awful but not amazing either -- some dialogues were pretty good but the message of anti-dowry was about as subtle as a sledgehammer.

I saw Aatank hi Aatank a couple of years back and the only thing I remember about it is Aamir's godfather getup: hair - which was dowsed in a bathtub of gel - slicked back, horrifying facial hair (HE HAD A MOUSTACHE!!!) and constipated expression. I remember pausing that frame and laughing for a good five minutes.

LOL'ing at your description of Daulat Ki Jung. If I recall correctly, it also had a cannibalistic tribe.I really felt for Juhi and Aamir.

I have never again seen the movie, or a scene from the movie or a song from the movie.

Fail to understand how come people enjoyed it so much.

I loved him in Dil, who can ever forget the ever green romantic song- Mujhe Neend na aaye, need na aaye (in echo).

Ya I hated Raja Hindustani too..the movie sucked big time...Aamir and Karisma were annoying as hell!! and to top it all Aamir got the best actor award from filmfare,...anyways im glad he dint turn up for the awards! However he more than made up for his performances in sarfarosh, Ghulam and Earth.
