Fainting on the sets is passe. These days what seems to be plaguing the TV industry is food poisoning and minor injuries.

Over the past one month, at least two daily soaps were held up and in some cases, duplicates of the actors had to be used because the star had food poisoning on the sets.

"Not having lunch breaks on time is a common thing these days. Lunch breaks as late as 3 pm instead of the usual 12 noon are not rare either. But in most cases, the food is generally ordered at 11 am itself. I guess that is the reason why in some cases the actors suffered food poisoning," says a leading producer.

"Shooting was disrupted after actor Subhangi Atre suffered from food poisoning. Her duplicate was used for a day," says a spokesperson of the actor, adding, "Similar instances have occurred on the sets of at least three soaps where one of the supporting actors became a victim of food poisoning."

Subhangi Atre says, "I got food poisoning after having dinner with my family. Since I am the main lead of Do Hanso Ka Joda, I'm in every episode and they had to use my duplicate. Shooting for a daily soap is not easy unless you have a bank of episodes."
Meanwhile, there have been back-to-back incidents of injuries on the sets too.

Actor Angad Hasija says about his mishap, "Thehair on my shoulder got stuck in the trimming machine and a boil developed there. But I had no choice but to shoot as I work for a daily soap. I have chosen a profession which is demanding but at the same time I love to act so one needs to take things in one's stride."

Actor Sara Khan also got injured on the sets. "Sara had a minor fracture. Just to make sure that it didn't hold up shooting, the script of the show was re-written to show that she had suffered a fracture too and shooting continued," confirmed a channel source.

According to sources, there have been at least eight cases of actors sustaining minor injuries on the sets in the last two months itself.
