I've been wondering, ever since ridhima started behaving like armaan's mother, about the emotion that drove her 'overly-concerned' behaviour. and today's epi answered my question - guilt.
guilt is a very strong emotion, it can make people go to any extent just to get rid of that 'guilt' and get some peace of mind. this is exactly what ridhima is going through; she feels responsible for armaan's current state and the guilt wouldn't let her live if she doesn't do anything about it. now the emotion in her has become so strong that she's become obsessed with armaan's life - with what he does, who he befriends, how he works etc. she wants to control things and turn them around in such a way that he becomes happy again, but what she doesn't know is that 'control' doesn't bring happiness.
it's not jealousy (at all). she's a guilt ridden woman who feels she knows what's best for armaan and she must do something to make sure he gets it. if he settles for any less, or if she's incapable of doing the 'best' for him, her guilt will only increase.
it's the guilt. not envy.

Its so clear that what Riddhima feels is concern, and guilt. She even said so today, "Tumhari haalat ki zimmedar main hoon." And there can be no greater burden than the thought that you've actually destroyed somebody's life, a good person's life, intentionally, or unintentionally. Her guilt is eating her up inside, and the concern that he's going to harm himself.

I completely agree with u... one thing good about today's episode is that she admitted that she is feeling guilty.... that she is responsible for whatever wrong is happening in his life... glad that the CV showed some light on Riddhima's character though.... but no the minute u feel that the CV are on the right path.. there they come up with something stupid like giving kasam and all 😡 Let's see what the precaps holds for us

I agree 100% that its the guilt that is torturing her and us as well.

But my question to her and to all dear CVs is that if Armaan is going back to street fighting its good na...that what he used to do earlier ....right!! So that is supposed to be good but who would feed that in Riddhima's head!!! He guilt makes he think she is the MOST important person in everybody's life and each and every action of theirs is because of her!!!

I do not know if I made much sense here 😆 but I wanted to say that I agree with ya!!

EXACTLY..We are shouting from top of our voices she is soooo guilty that she is the one which is leading Armaan to destruction and she does not like shilpa and thinks her to be a cause of a heart break for Ammy....She is trying her best to make Armaan smile again............

She loves Sid..and will always support him

Hmm I don't attribute it as guilt. I don't think it's jealosuy either but neither do I think it is guilt.
I admit that guilt could have been a good reason but I don't buy that. This has more to do with Riddhima's character as opposed to anything else. And honestly right now I think it's some power control issues. She does it with Sid, and I think she's doing it with Armaan too. I think she tells herself that she's just caring for him and it's concern, but I think it's more do with controlling his life.
I'm not even sure how you got the guilt part given the current episodes, unless you're basing it on what Sid said in the new promo. But still I don't think it's guilt.

@seert - I agree that ridhima is a control freak. but with armaan, her behaviour is defenitely ridden by guilt because she was the one who dumped him and his life has only gone downhill ever since. even in today's epi, she said, 'tumhari is halat ki zimmedaar main hoon' - that's hardcorde proof of her guilt.
so I guess it can be said that she's trying to control armaan to get rid of her guilt, because if something's holding her back - then it's the guilt and nothing else.
