August 18, 2010 Written Update

Jyoti and Kabir sit together and Kabir notices Jyoti looking sad. He starts talking about pakphere rasam. He reminds her that they have their honeymoon coming up and soon they will have 3 kids. Jyoti becomes upset, remembering what happened before. Kabir tries cheering her up and Jyoti asks why Asha has not had kids yet since she's been married for some time now. Kabir breaks it to her that Asha is Sumer's 3^rd marriage. The servant then calls them downstairs to talk to RP.

Chachi is trying to convince RP to do something about Jyoti when they reach. RP tells Kabir that madamji is expecting him in Delhi soon. Kabir brings up the pakphere rasam, but Jyoti tells him that duty always comes first so he should go to Delhi. Chachi offers to go to Jyoti's house along with her. Jyoti goes to the kitchen, where Bhavri is tying up Asha's wounds. Jyoti asks Asha if so much blood can be spilled with the breaking of one glass. Asha explains that she was talking to Sumer while picking up the glass. Kabir enters. Jyoti tells Asha that today she will cook all the food, and everyone will sit together and eat. Bhavri explains that women and men eat separately. Jyoti tells them that today they shall eat together and Kabir tells Asha to send their food to their room.

Upstairs, Jyoti asks Kabir why he said that. He explains that women and men have always been eating separately in their house. He tells how things used to be different when his mother was alive. He reminds her that if she ever feels uncomfortable, they can leave and live elsewhere. Jyoti tells him that you can never run away from your family and she will work hard to bring change. Meanwhile Rashmi goes around town looking for a job as a maid. No one is willing to hire her, as she is obviously pregnant now.

The men are seated for dinner and Kabir thinks that what Jyoti is trying to achieve is going to be difficult. In the kitchen, Jyoti hands plates to Asha and Bhavri and tells them to place them on the table. Chachi intervenes and tells Jyoti that she cannot change the traditions and customs of this family. She says that women have been eating in the kitchen, and that will continue. Jyoti agrees with her and then says that she'll go get Chachi's plate from the table since she will have to eat in the kitchen too then. Chachi asks Jyoti if she thinks their husbands would even want to eat with their wives. Jyoti assures her that they would and they all advance to the dining table. The men are shocked seeing the women and Chachi explains what Jyoti has decided. When Asha goes to sit by Sumer, he gets up. End.

I don't understand what could be the problem with everyone eating together? Why is this such a big issue? I know they think that women should not be seen, but if there are no visitors in the house, then why the problem with eating together?

What an episode, where we got to see both the masochistic Jyoti, who won't let Kabir leave his family as that would be 'running away', and the bold Jyoti, who insists on everybody eating together. But my favorite moment today was when she offered to bring chachi-sa's plate to the kitchen. 😈😆

I'd like to see some Sumer vs Jyoti confrontations. Will he combat her bhashans by pulling her hair, as he does w/ Asha? Or will he just throw more tantrums?

Also, for the pagphere, Jyoti should just wait and go w/ Kabir - chachi-sa ain't the person who should be going there. If she wants to go there on Reshmi's a/c, let her.

And speaking of Reshmi, why can't she just sit and make those paper bags like everybody else? In her condition, she shouldn't be doing strenuous work. Surely, the Jyoti Paper Bag Company can use her services? 😆

Thanks Kruthika for the update I ve' been waiting for an hour to read it .I think Jyoti start so soon to change everything ,and it seems that Kabir is hesitated about Jyoti's behaviour.I hope nothing bad happened to them and Jyoti can do something about the Stupid Sumer.

What a shame that wife is not even allowed to sit by their hubby. Atleast Kabir shares the bed with Jyoti unlike Ash and Bhavri who sleeps on floor. As per Chachi Sa sisodia bahu spent most of time in kitchen (may be Chachi Sa went thru same when she was newly wedded)

Good now Jyoti is ready to make changes in Sisodia world. Loved when she told to put Chachi Sa's Plate in the kitchen too. 😊

Waiting to see how Jyoti Straight out Sumer. I will say here that Sharmas are more lucky then Sisodia As Sharma sit together to eat. Matter of fact living room/ dining room or kitchen is same place so all day long they face each other. More love and affectionate eating together.

I hope that Raghu keeps Bhavri happy atleast he will learn by seeing Kabir how he keeps Jyoti happy and is stick with her all the time.😉When Jyoti Kabir will go for PagPhere they will find something about Rashmi.

This is a bit OTT isn't it. I mean surely it's not like this in India anymore?

thanx kruttika..man,jyoti really did a lot in this episode dint she??applied her detective knowledge to asha's wound,gave one of her mahaan lectures on not running away (y on earth does she have to take decisions for everybody???u want to become a fricking carpet ur welcome..bt please stop forcing kabir now..if he dsnt want to live there for sum reason atleast respect tht)..ok to continue,she had an intelligent witty comeback to chachi abt getting her plate into the kitchen..i fail to understand y she wears the pants in the "royal" palace..whatever masochistic stuff the show has shown,i must say it does a lot for widow upliftment..earlier it was bhairavi,now its chachi..both women are supreme in the household..

Bhairavi & chachi-sa are widows on steroids. Looks like becoming widowed was probably the best thing that happened to them.

Although one thing I'll say - here, Jyoti is at least taking a decision about her own family i.e. herself & Kabir, whereas in the past, she forced Uday to come back to the family despite his differences w/ CM.

Jyoti is an idiot. It is going to be a repeat of the past her trying to be mahan. 🤬 Jyoti and this show. I mean come on can't the CVs be creative and not repeat. If this track continues, then their TRP is DEFINITELY gonna go down. I bet you the CVs won't let Jyoti be successful in anything. I mean Kabir's family is definitely backward and more stubborn than Pankaj's family. If couldn't do any good there, then how do the CVs expect the audience to think Jyoti can change kabir's family?
