Playing his B'wood card
When Delhi boy and actor Rohit Khurana landed in his hometown recently, it was raining questions for him 'But why are you doing this to your wife? She is so sweet.'
'Tum ko itna gussa kyun aata hai?' 'Ab aur kitna pareshaan karogey apni wife ko?' And he seemed to be in a fix. "Main kaun sa apni marzi se karta hoon? I simply do what the director says," he answered with a smile.
Blame it on the role he plays on television of an aggressive, over possessive and deeply insecure husband But he isn't complaining. He takes it all as a compliment. The viewers, he says, generally believe the celluloid image to be true. "And I really wanted to do a role that people remember.
I, in fact, agreed to do this role only because of its intensity. I didn't want to be a part of a serial where the husband stands next to his wife doing absolutely nothing! Television is anyway female-dominated, so I didn't want to get lost in a small insignificant role," explained the actor, who has done many films down South. At present, he is considering more film offers from South and even Bollywood.
I have been offered roles in Bollywood films; things will get finalized very soon. I am just taking some time to decide, for I don't want to be like many other small screen actors who switched to films later, but never achieved success, as they worked in only B-grade films that didn't do well," he says. So what are his plans? "I will either do a role in a good film or won't do any at all... I want to play my cards really well," said the actor, who is currently single and not quite ready to mingle!
