Not all shows that took leap has always been successful especially when the leads are changed.It was totally a wrong decission on the part of RS when he thought that good story line was all that was needed. Indeed it is important but more than that it chiefly depends on how the actors give life to the characters. All foursome were so dedicated that we couldn't realize that they were acting. It was so damn natural.Viewers accepted it which was shown as TRP's many times. Even when the story fluttered, TRP's didn't go beyond a limit because viewers wished to see foursome together.
RS must have thought on all this before he became adamant on the leap.New flavours can be added but it becomes successful only when old flavours are retained.New ones can only increase the taste of the product.But if old ones are removed it's identity is lost.That is now which we view through the TRP's. He should have respected the actors decission atleast thinking that they gave life to his product initially.
