I LOVED this movie. For ONCE, youth didn't seem stupid in movies.

Honestly, what I think worked best for this movie was the interactions between the group of friends. Friends are like THAT. They aren't side-kicks all the time, like in every other youth based movie in which the lead couple gets all the chamachgiri from the friends. In this movie, importance was actually given to the friends. they had their own stories too, their own say. I LOVED that about this film.

I also think that Genelia and Imran had adorable chemistry. It wasn't shoved, or like, super emphasized. It was so cute, so natural. Genelia was the real star, though, she was just fantastic. Imran could've done better work, but since it was a fairly light role, maaf.

AND of course, the music kicked ass.

So what did you think of the movie?
An satisfactory movie at best, it entertained me for the duration of 3 hours but it's only a once watch for me. It aired not too long back and I had no inclination of watching it maybe barring a couple of scenes.
The lead's chemistry amazing/good/ok/meh?
Just about OK, like someone said here, their friendship was shown and written well but the buildup of their realisation of love was just lacklustre so I didn't find chemistry between the two.
Any songs you liked?
Kabhi Kabhi Aditi was the best song, Pappu can't dance was catchy.
What did you think of the other characters?
Jai's character was a breath of fresh air, calm, witty and charming.
Aditi's brother was a well written character despite being short, also Jai's Mum. Really didn't get what Paresh Rawal's character was doing, totally redundant in the screenplay as far as I'm concerned.
The supporting characters in the friendship circle were so meh, didn't have any appeal and were really awkwardly placed in scenes.
The girl that their friends were narrating the 'love story' to was so irksome and slap-worthy to be honest.
Overall rating (out of 5)

Anything else you would like to share?
The screenplay was pretty stretched out, the editor did a poor job. Especially scenes with Aditi's fiance, I get they were trying to portray him as the bad guy but it was really boring how they showed the culmination of his and Aditi's relationship.

There were too many characters- Jai's girlfriend's family, the Inspector, Aditi's fiance's ex...

Imran Khan was cute and for his first attempt he was definitely above average.
Genelia was adequate, good expressions but really annoying dialogue delivery.
Prateik Babber and Ratna Pathak Shah were my favourite, Prateik no doubt was natural.

So what did you think of the movie?

I loved this movie, perfect for student-type ages, really cute and the characters were lovable and realistic
The lead's chemistry amazing/good/ok/meh?

It was great, they suited each other both as friends and as lovers, and as the point of the film was how friendship is imprtant in love, it worked really well

Any songs you liked?

I loved most of the songs. I was already a fan of Pappu Cant Dance because its so catch but I fell in love with Kabhi Kabhi adit after watching the movie, its a beautiful song which always cheers me up

What did you think of the other characters?

They were all great, very naturally comica and funny. I loved he "gang"
Overall rating (out of 5)

4/5 I loved both Imran and Genelia so much but the storyline was a tad boring at some points

Smart movie. Loved it! The way Abbas used cliches to make a completely new movie yet made it so fresh and relatable was fabulous! My favorite is of course Naseeruddin Shah's cameo! What a delight! I

Also liked the way it was narrated....friends telling a story to a friend....starts with Jai's dream....and then how Jai fulfills the three things to become a Rathore. Even if the love story was predictable, I had no idea how Jai would fulfill the three requirements.

Jai Singh Rathore is my dream man hahahaha! Can't get enough of him! Aditi is like that crazy girl who needs a Jai in her life to keep her in control. She is such a crack! Love the friends....Prateik was good and loved his relationship with Aditi. I think everyone acted well...they fit the characters so well that it never seemed like any of them were acting. Although Imran was a bit raw I think it suit Jai! The awkwardness in front of the camera went with the shy nature of Jai. I can't think of anyone but Genelia play Aditi. She was a firecracker....complete mad woman!

Love all the songs and I rate it a 5/5 :)

I can watch it over and over and over again and never get bored!

Note: There are some negatives....but I don't feel like talking about them! 😆

I loved some things of the movie like friendship, that way how much Jay loves Aditi. Songs were also awsum. But somehow I don't like the break-up concept. That's it.

My rating- 3 out of 5.😊

Jaane Tu.. Hmm.. I really really liked it.. When it released almost the whole IF (me included) went crazy using their avis and sigs.. It was a nice movie which although with a very cliched storyline was shown well that the audience could connect with it.. At times, it got very predictable but like I said it was cliched but refreshing at the same time..

The lead's chemistry was very good.. They were supposed to remain "friends" until the very end.. and their chemistry potrayed their friendship beautifully.. So yeah I really liked their chemistry..

Songs.. Well, JTYJN used to be one of my favourite albums.. Kabhi Kabhi Aditi was soo different, Pappu Can't Dance was very catchy.. Rest songs.. like Kahin Tou Hogi Woh and Jaane Tu Meri/Mera Kya Hai are my personal favourites.. JTYJN title track.. was sooooo different and very well sung by A.R.Rehman..

Other characters.. I didn't like their friends much individually.. One of their friend.. Shaleen I think was good.. Although I think the friendship shown between them was very nice.. Jiggy's girlfriend was a part of the audience.. She reacted as the audience did or was supposed to.. So I think that was very well shown.. Aditi's parents were very sweet.. and I loved Jai's parents as well.. Prateik Babbar was fabulous.. great acting.

Over all rating would be 4.5

I liked it.....it was a fresh, youthful film....I liked Aditi's craziness and I thought Genelia played her cutely....Jai balanced her out in a very sweet manner and they had adorable chemistry together.....I do still think that Imran looks best with Genelia although I see so many ppl raving about his chemistry with Sonam in IHLS....lol....Genelia's bubbliness compliments him much more.

Not to compare but I think JTYJN got it right when IHLS didn't.....both films had plenty of cliches but it's the presentation that matters.....and JTYJN succeeded there in terms of the characterization and the way the plot unfolded despite some crazy OTT plotlines like the the Sohail-Arbaaz angle and that annoying friend that the four friends were narrating the story to......IHLS didn't quite manage that in my opinion....JTYJN became a cult hit in it's own right.....the character of Jai suited Imran far better than J in IHLS....in many ways it seems Imran is Jai....lol....cuz in some ways I could see Jai in J as well...haha

Anyways, coming back to the movie....Prateik Babbar was the find of the movie in my opinion....loved his and Aditi's dynamic and the way their relationship was shown....and then Ratna Pathak Shah's character and her relationship with Jai...very sweetly shown.....these relationships were the highlight of the movie and gave it a different kind of poignancy. The scenes b/w the friends were natural and funny and they all truly looked like a gang of friends.

I liked the way they used the 'tera mujhse hai pehle ka naata' song in the movie....the climax at the airport was cliched but still cute...I think Jai-Aditi made it cute....lol

Overall, I think this movie had heart.....and I could connect to the characters....so I liked it :-)

I was actually disappointed in the film first time I saw it because it was really hyped so maybe I had got my expectations too high up. I saw it again a few months back and LOVED it. It was realistic in that it wasn't an in your face rom-com. It was about two best friends who were in love but not in the way you usually see in movies. The emotions were 'real' and so were the actions of Jai and Aditi I guess.

Imran was cute but I saw his flaws instantly. Nevertheless for a debutant, I thought he gave a really sincere performance. Genelia got the feelings of Aditi bang on in the latter scenes. I'm always confused about her. Sometimes I think, WOW she is so natural and then there are other times when I've wondered if she acts OTT (not in JTYJN but couple of her other films). As a couple, perfect as friends and a real life couple I guess. It was a cute and cosy type chemistry, not a sparkling one (which I feel Imran and Sonam have a lot of).

Very good film overall 😃 Awesome music!!

EDIT: How did I forget Prateik Babbar? I actually thought he acted the best! Definately didn't seem like his first film. BRILLIANT Performance! I wish he came in more films!
