"I Will Keep Entertaining You Till I Can"- Karan Wahi

Karan Wahi is the name which increases the hearts beats of many of his fans. His popularity has reached its peak after being a part of 'Dill Mill Gayye'. The guy shared many of his thoughts, feelings and beliefs exclusively with TellyCafe. Read along to find more...

How is Karan in real life?

I am a very lazy guy. Actually I was not like that before. I have changed with time though. I was a very energetic guy, lively, living for the moment but don't know how I changed and turned lazy (Laughs). But I still retain some qualities which keep me normal. I love to appreciate the small things in life and everything that comes to me. And I think that appreciation and being content is the key to happiness.

I love to appreciate the small things in life and everything that comes to me. And I think that appreciation and being content is the key to happiness.

What are the similarities and differences between Karan and Siddharth?

There are a lot of differences between me and Siddharth of DMG. Firstly, I am an easygoing person while he is very irritating and confused. Siddharth becomes tense while taking Riddhima (Jennifer Winget) into consideration whereas I get ruffled at every small thing. And the similarities include being a funny, cool guy who can laugh at himself, cheerful and intent on keeping the people around happy. Apart from that I am also childish and don't think that I have changed even after being in the industry for 6 years.

How was your journey so far?

It was amazing and memorable for me as I have almost completed 6 years of success on 30 June 2010. I had taken up Remix, and then done two or three films which didn't work out. Then came the daily soaps and finally 'Dill Mill Gayye'. I have seen all the ups and downs of this industry and it is fun for me to be here for such so long.

How did you get into this industry?

I was in college at Delhi when I gave an audition for Remix. The channel might have found me cute and called me here in Mumbai for the show. This was how I started my journey in Telly wood and then I got a break in films. Eventually I got a chance to work for 'Mere Ghar Aai Ek Nanhi Pari' and then turned to DMG. Now I have completed almost 10 months in the show.

Tell us something about your schooling and college?

Well I have not enjoyed my college life at all. I entered college a bit late and left it very early. I had to come to Mumbai for doing Remix and could not continue with college. Eventually I got to complete my graduation from Delhi University through correspondence. So it was hardly enjoyable. But yes! At the same time I had a gala time in my school as my mother was the vice principle there. It does not mean that I was a total brat but I agree that I was very naughty. However, I was a disciplined child at the same time.

How did your role in DMG influence your real life?

Not really, my actual character has not been influenced by my onscreen persona at all. I keep my professional and personal life different. I don't like to discuss work at home.

When I am at my work place you can ask me anything related to work but when I am at home, I don't like to discuss it. Sometimes my mom and dad also ask me about the happenings on the sets and the track. But I just tell them to watch the show in order to get the questions answered. Now, if you want to know whether I am the same both off screen and on screen then I will say that after the shoot, I am not 90% of Sid and 10% of Karan.

You have a lot of female fan following. Did you have any incident with your fans?

Yes! There are many such incidents. There are many good, embarrassing, funny and shocking incidents which I have experienced till now. I really feel good that our time is so valuable for the fans. And yes I think this is the thing that I wanted the most. I will not ignore the fact that I am here to gain popularity. In fact, I get scared when one doesn't recognize me. Getting scared does not mean that I am scared of a particular person. But the people praise you so much and offer you something which I don't really want but do it just to keep their word. I don't want to break their heart or hurt them in anyway.

Any memory that you cherish?

Every single moment is memorable for me. My shoots, sets, my family and everyone around me are important so there is no specific memory which I can recall.

What is your stand on reality shows?

Reality show is fun and all about money. Everyone says that reality shows are fixed. I was a part of a reality show and my friends teased me about the money that I got to get blanked out. But it was totally realistic with nothing being untrue. I just love reality shows.

Your dream role!

I don't have any dream role. Actually people have their dream roles because a particular person (Character) in the movie or in the show had played it outstandingly.

And thus everyone wants to try and essay it. But I think even we can do it. If we play our roles perfectly it will definitely be a dream role for others. So there is nothing as a dream role in reality. I just want to do my work perfectly.

Any message for your fans?

Dear all just keep watching me and giving your love and blessings to me and I will keep entertaining you till I can.
