Best Actress 2010?

Who will win the coveted prize at next year's award ceremonies.
With the first half of the year coming to an end, let's take a look at the contenders..

1. Kajol as Mandira Khan in "MY NAME IS KHAN"



Surely she is the front-runner in this year's race. An incredible understated performance from the 4-time Filmfare Award Best Actress winner. Who can forget the death-scene of her son in the movie? The cry...?!

2. Vidya Balan as Krishna Verma in "ISHQIYA"



Next up is last year's winner. Vidya won numerous awards for her superb performance in PAA [2009]. Ishqiya might not have had a good effect on the box office, but Vidya's presence is undeniable. Surely a nomination is in the bag at least.

3. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as Ragini Sharma in "RAAVAN"




4. Katrina Kaif as Indu Pratap in "RAAJNEETI"



Katrina is making a larger dent in Bollywood with each passing year. She started as a complete outsider, and now she is scoring big hit after big hit. Matching it up with substancial roles, she is unstoppable.

Kareena Kapoor


Bebo's first release after 3 Idiots last year will be the much delayed Milenge Milenge on July 9th, which does not carry any high expectations at all. So moving on we have "WE ARE FAMILY" (also starring Kajol and Arjun Rampal), "GOLMAAL 3" (also starring Ajay Devgan) to look forward to.

Priyanka Chopra



After winning the award for her 2008 film "FASHION", Priyanka returned last year with 2 spectacular performances in "KAMINEY" and "WHAT'S YOUR RAASHEE?" - However 2010 didn't start well for her with her only release so far "PYAAR IMPOSSIBLE" doing badly. Not to worry as she still has "ANJAANA ANJAANI" opposite Ranbbir Kapoor to look forward to. And early next year sees the release of the much talked about "SAAT KHOON MAAF".

Deepika Padukone



Deepu has been nominated twice so far in her short career which is great. She's already had some critical acclaim this year ("KAARTHIK CALLING KAARTHIK") as well as a big hit ("HOUSEFULL") - and with the upcoming "LAFANGEY PARINDEY"'s first promo stills just released, she is on a roll. Look out for her Ashutosh Gowariker-directed "KHELEIN HUM JEE JAAN SE" with Abhishek Bachchan and "BREAK KE BAAD" with Imran Khan.

Rani Mukherji



Don't write her off just yet. She is in fact younger than the above mentioned Kajol and Aishwarya don't forget, and only just over a year older than the likes of Bebo. And let's not also forget how smashing she looked and acted in "Dil Bole Hadippa" [2009] opposite Shahid Kapoor. Her next release will be "WHO MURDERED JESSICA LAL" (also starring Vidya Balan).

Sonam Kapoor



She may have been overshadowed by Deepika when they both arrived in 2007 (the same day in fact) - But this is one diva who refuses to take second place. She is well on her way into the big league, with her upcoming "I HATE LUV STORYS" getting immense feedback prior to it's release. She will follow this up with "AISHA" with Abhay Deol a month later... Things are in swing for her now, let's hope she can keep it up.

the one im lookign forward for is priyanka's saat khoon mauff

For this year the competition is between Kareena, Kajol, Rani, and Vidya Balan.

So far from my list only Vidya and Kajol films have released. And from them I think Vidya is top contendar. Kajol was overshadowed by SRK from what I hear. I haven't watched the film.

Kareena will def strike gold in WAF a lot of people already are praising her work including the director and her costar Arjun Rampal and the news about how she brought tears in the eyes of the whole crew. Golmaal 3 is a commercial film she won't be nominated for that. Lets not forgot Kajol in WAF too is another competiton for Vidya and Kareena and Rani.

Rani is always a good actress so there is big hopes for her from Who killed jessica lal. Vidya should be good too.

Others Kat and Deepika no way at least form what we have seen so far in Ranjeeti and Housefull. They are not gonna win def

OH I forgot about Aish, so from what I hear she was good in Raavan but it doesn't seem like an award winning performance especially comparing to what vidya done in Ishiqi. Well have to see her in Guzarish I guess. Since its SLB she might deliver there. She is another competitor.

And PC the only film she has this year is AA, which is a commercial film so I don't know if she is a competitor in that sense. We have to see the film first. She is gonna deliver def in SKM since its with Vishal sir.

I think with so much hatred for Ash on this board, people are not seeing the whole picture. Yeah, Raavan was not noticed, but she still has a strong shot with SLB's Guzaarish. And we all know Ash got her awards with his films. So, please don't be so narrow-minded and acknowledge that Ash's role in Guzaarish could get her another award. 🤬

And if people think she didn't deliver in Ravaan and if they think in Guzarish she will not deliver thatz (which no one so far said on this thread) their opinion nothing to me mad about.

I think Ash might get a nomination for Raavan b/c she's gotten postive reviews! But you never know which way it might go b/c she got rave reviews for Raincoat b/c she didn't get a nomination! As for 2010, Vidya, Kareena, and Ash are good contenders! Vidya was amazing, Kareena is always amazing and I think she'll get nominated for "Stepmom" movie(I don't know the hindi title, sorry!), and Ash for Guzaarish! As for Kat, I highly doubt she'll get a nomination for Rajneeti!

It just might be Priyanka, she has Anjana Anjani and the one with Irfan Khan with 7 husbands. As of now, her movies show greater promise than the other actresses. Although I would like to see Vidya win or even Kareena. But what is Kareena doing now besides a rip off of Step mom and James Bond? 😆
My money is on Priyanka.

Most likely between Kajol, Aishwarya & Vidya.

I am rooting for Beboliscious's Madhur flick, Rani in the flick with Vidya and I wanna see Aishwarya back in her nandani (short nandu) form in Guzaarish. You never know, Ash and SLB are a leathal combo.

@ladygaga I agree Kareena in Heroine will also be a good contender but am not sure if the film will be finished by the time the next year awards will come around. :(
