Shabana joins hands with Boman Irani

This week Shabana will be in Goa and no, it isn't for a holiday. "I'm going to Goa to shoot for Farhan Akhtar's production, Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd," says Shabana. "It's about eight couples who are on honeymoon in Goa. The exciting part of it is that I'm teamed with Boman Irani. It's interesting to be paired with a new co-star specially one who knows his craft so well."

There was a time when Shabana was always paired either with Om Puri or Naseeruddin Shah. "I'm dying to work with Naseeruddin Shah again," she says. "It has been ages since we worked together. We need to do some good work together."

At the moment, being paired with Boman and facing up to the challenge of doing a comedy have Shabana all charged up. "It's very important for independent filmmakers like Reema (Kagti, the director of Honeymoon…) to find the right resources," she says. "I've been screaming myself hoarse that it's very important for big film companies to support small endeavours. That's why I admire Subhash Ghai. He has put money into projects like Jogger's Park and Iqbal. I guess it's because he still has the sensibilities of the Pune Film Institute within him."
