Repeated complains on originality

I do get it. No one wants to see things we have already seen but I feel half of the time we are complaining these days is because we are unhappy about our couples.

If you really want to talk originality then why start at Sid climbing windows or Armaan and Shilpa in jail? Is a girl vs boy battle original? How many movies did we see this in? is a girl vs boys basketball game original? Is a hospital romance original? Is the good girl eventually loves the lady killer original? are eye locks original? Is dupuatta flying original? is climbing windows original considering we have seen this in a lot of Bollywood movies? Is showing a guy's shower scene original?

If we are really going to keep complaining lets complain about other things too like omg he or she is walking, that is copied because 2 years ago insert name here also walked. 👎🏼I know that is one of the most ridiculous comments I ever made but the rate these complains are going I am starting to think the next complains wouldn't be too far from it.

Nothing in the world is original. NOTHING! Of course CVS are pushing it by copying one movie after another but CVS and even Jennifer has mentioned that you can copy an idea but what you do with it or where it goes is your own. I agree that cvs has taken movie ideas but they have turned things around, they made it their own.

I read an article today that there days fans control the story. I wish that wasn't case. A story teller should tell the story he wants to tell in the exact way he wants. Due to fan demands and these trp chakkar everything is getting ruined.

Very good point. I think your 'walking' example maybe a bit extreme (I get why you used it) but nevertheless, I was thinking along the same lines the other day.

No one's happy, ever! If it's SR fans, they're not happy with the way things are going b/w AR and their scenes. If it's AR fans, the other way around. If it's KaSh fans, they gotta bash KaJen, KaJen fans, the other way around, and KaSu ... poor fans.

I'm generalizing, I know, so this is for NOT most people but the FEW that make some noise and can get extremely rude and tend to taint the entire group's image.

So scenes are copied, so ... get over it. It's a soap. If you wanted original, watch bollywood movies ... oops, they claim themselves they copy off of hollywood movies .... so, go there. And these day most hollywood movies are spin offs of cartoons/comics or taken out of fiction novels ... so there.

That said, I will give you this. There are some lines to be drawn. Lately, DMG is all about space filling. I think I said in one post that it's not long before they'll just put actors in a chair for us to stare at for about 30 minutes.

So, copying - understood. But they HAVE to have SOME story, no? Lately, it's one movie after another, after another. Filling up time, till they come up with a story.

So I've decided to send them some ideas for their story for SR and AS ...

Okayyyyyy if they r only copyin movies, but what'll u guys say when they r copyin there own previous scenes on new couples. I mean we already watched that and showin those things again on new people is just goin round and round and borin there viewers.

Well said dear!!! It's just the idea is borrowed and DMGfied and later on Siddhimafied!!! I dont mind at all.. coz I eagerly wait for any Siddhima scene!! and now, they are doing the role reversal for ARSH.. and I am still liking it!!! bottom line.. as long as they keep us entertained.. we should be happy!!!😃

Thank you for this post, since the repeated complaints on originality were getting a bit too much.
See Indian tv has never been originality. That's not to say there aren't good stories. It's just that they get a good concept (not always though) and then down the line, the story gets done but they stretch it in order to keep the show alive. However, the fans then just watch for their original attachment to the show, its characters, and the actors. Also most Indian shows now heavily rely on the lead actors' chemistry...hence once the story gets done, they solely rely on them.
Also DMG lost its creativity along time ago, and even when it was original, alot of the tracks were copied from movies. The whole guy vs girl (which as you said is nothing new), but BB scenes were a reminder of KKHH, and even Ridhhima's visit to Lonavala with Armaan and the bua interaction was copied from DTPH.

So what I'm trying to say is that we don't watch these shows for originality. But rather for the actors, their chemistry, how they enact the scenes, and how entertaining the scene is (doesn't matter if its copied or not).
