Persoanlly, I think the channel makes these decisions about which contestants end up in which team. Personally, I do believe Terence would have preferred his contestants to go to Remo than Geeta.
But this is why I think it happened the way it did. We read the article about how all 3 mentors refused to have other masters choreograph for their contestants because they just might play dirty. So I think the channel/producers to appease them, said that each duet will have 1 contestant from that master's team and 1 contestant from another team so that bad choreography can't be given on purpose since that would also harm the chances of the master's own contestants.
Remo because he only has 2 contestants could only send 1 contestant away and take 1. So either Terence or Geeta would have to keep 2 of their contestants so each dancer only does 1 duet--hence this was done when there's an even # of dancers left--and take 2. There was a big drama about Dharmesh wanting to be in Remo's group, so Dharmesh was bound to go 2 Remo. And Punit wanted to be in Terence's group, so Punit was sent there. I don't know the thought process for the other contestants, but they decided that Geeta would keep her girls so Terence didn't have a choice but to send Amar and Jack to her.
