i read it! Longest read ever, but still way better than Northanger abbey! My austen book is persuasion, then emma, then pride and prejudice, and it's 3-way tie between Sense and sensibility, northanger abbey and mansfield park. Maybe s&s a little bit more than the NA and MP!
But instead of reading Emma, you should probably just watch clueless b/c it's based more on that than Emma! But still Emma is a great READ! However if you read the book 1st you'll probably be a tad bit disappointed b/c the books tend to always be better...however not the case in all instances for example Northanger Abbey(2007) and Jane Erye! I say if you got time read it!!!

I love Emma and its one of my fav books. That is because of Jane Austen's wit. She writes so delightfully.
As for the film, it seems to have got the story from Emma (X happens to A and Y happens to B) but does it have the acerbic wit of the book? Does it have Austen's style? The trailer has been a real let-down, and I can only hope that the movie is better.
If you read the book, you may end up being disappointed. But if you don't enjoy the book or find it dull, you may enjoy the film more.
