Wildcard Round: Sadhna Sargam

An immensely talented and a classically trained singer.

I can imagine her smiling face behind the mic when she sings the opening lines.
In the antara she goes high pitch with "Kuch Naa Kaho". She did a fair job here also.

Before I get into rating this specific song, I would like to say Sadhna ji deserved to be in this competition from the beginning and I am so glad that she is a part of the wildcard round. The fight is tough. All in the WC are terrific singers. And my favorite track of Sadhna ji is actually not from any movie, but rather a serial. There are many versions to this song. Here's one:

Now coming to Kuch Naa Kaho. Its a beautiful piece sung by Shaan and Sadhna ji. I think she sung really well. Her intro was fabulous. She sung it with the right emotions and feeling. Her variations and 'hatkas' were bang on. She has a very sweet, powerful voice. She had good breath control as well!

^^^ Well I didn't know it was her either until I saw it say Playback Singers Sadhna Sargam...That's when I found out. It switches. Sometimes it's her, sometimes Shreya, and sometimes Pamela Jain I think. All depends! Haha

The starting is quite speedy, which makes it difficult to retain focus on sur and expression simulatenously. But Sadhna ji has done a great job. The high notes are subtle, steady and yet they manage to create an impact. I loved the line "Jazbaat Jitnay Hain Dil Main..", full of varied romantic expressions. Simply beautiful throw with delicacy. Some parts where the voice goes extra thin are to be improved. Otheriwise, a very nice and pleasant performance. Made my mood. :)

I would like to give this song a 9 out of 10.

Lovely song and a master performance by Sadhanaji! If this student of Pandit Jasraj doesn't deserve a place in the contest, I don't know who does!

Her pitching was spot on, as were her harkats. What I especially liked was the vibrance in her projection - she softened and became louder, and transitioned, in such a great way. This shows that not only does she have a great voice, it can also hit all the notes, and she knows how best to use her voice, using different projections, whether the whispering projection in the beginning or softening on 'dheere dheere'.

Loved it. Of course, there are even more difficult songs out there. I'm being kanjoos and giving this a 9. Wouldn't be surprised if many of you want to give it a 10.

I agree, she defintely should've been in the Top 12. She is also a Top 10 Female Singer in the Past 2 Decades no doubt in my mind. She sung pretty well. I don't have much time, her singing was good throughout. Nice high-pitches, and so on. I think she could've had a stronger start though, can't get too much details, but...
