Aastha is a really bad mother. She keeps choosing her father in law over her baby. A mother's top priority is to protect and be with her kid but aastha keeps sacrificing her child for her father in law.
Maybe this is all because Krishna is not her own son because being a good daughter in law seems to be more important for her than her child. There has been so many times when she lets go of Krishna for someone and when everyone gives her permission she takes him back. If she was a good mother and really cared for the baby she would try to adopt him fighting all obstacles.

I also don't think so
It is clearly reflected through Astha's eyes as to how much she loves Krishna, but she also really loves Shivam. Her husband has supported her the entire way and now she does not want to put her happiness ahead of her husband
She would love to be a mother but does not want to sacrifice the happiness of her husband for that purpose. She is stuck between choosing to be a good wife/good daughter-in-law/good mother.

I also understand that part, however a mother's first priority is her child.

I just wanted to know if her father in law hated a girl child or maybe an autistic child and asked Shivam and Astha to get rid of it or send it to anathashram, would she have reacted the same way? Would the viewers accept her reacting the same way? This only looks justified because Krishna is not their biological child.

I agree, being a mother myself I will choose my baby first over all other relationships.. may be she is hesitating because Krishna is not her biological son..

Surely she loves Krishna, but her priorities and responces would have been different if it would have been her biological son.
