I dont connect to her singing in this song...I liked her singing in the Antara more.

Great singing by Alka Yagnik!


A very fast paced song! Alka usually sings the slow soothing songs, this one was very fast. It did feel like she had to work hard to keep up with the pace here, but almost any singer would. Though I felt in many places the beat of the song was too fast for her, so she kind of got left behind.

But despite that, she did a really good job adding lots of great expression, and already has a great a voice quality. Could it have gone better? Yes. But is it as bad as most people here rated? No. It was actually well sung, and it looks like most people just weren't here in the 90s, when this song was a major hit, and songs like this were actually really good.


Overall, she sang well, there were actually some parts where she was impressive. "Deewangi kya cheez hai..." that whole line was well sung as she went low, and then high in the next line after that I think.

I'm actually very surprised in the ratings a lot of people are giving. Of course everyone is entitled to their own respective opinion and I am no one to judge that. But yeah I'm kind of surprised some rated her so low.

I've heard this song numerous times. Although not the best song ever, it definitly wasn't as bad either. This sing really demanded a lot in terms of hyper-ness. It was a joyful, playful number. I think Alka ji did a beautiful job with this song. It was very easy to connect with the song and her voice. I'm surprised some thought otherwise. Really I thought Alka ji was perfect in terms of everything. If there was something that I didn't feel was right was that at some parts I felt she over emphasized the lyrics. But that's just a minor flaw. I personally enjoyed her singing!

Yeah I think all the judges agreed that it was very good singing. I think the some in the audience just doesn't appreciate 90s songs and singing. If this was 1999, this would get 9s and 10s .

The minimum score Alka has got is a 5..still better than how some people have rated Kavita and Sunidhi (giving them a score of 1/2) in the past few rounds 😉

And regarding the "connection", well, I did not connect but I gave her a 7..and you gave her an 8, not much difference there.

no one can get the right feel of the song other than alka ji.
