"Women-centric themes seem to have caught Bollywood's fancy yet again, whether it is Priyanka Chopra's Saat Khoon Maaf, Sonam Kapoor's Aisha, Kareena Kapoor-Kajol's Stepmom remake or Rani Mukerji-Vidya Balan- starrer No One Killed Jessica, But the big question is will these movies go on to become hits."

There is also Kareena Kapoor's starter named Heroine directed by Madhur Bhandarkar confirmed it himself on twitter. The movie will be about the rise and fall of an actress.

Also Aish and Abhi starter Raavan is said to be Aish's movie.

So what do u guys think, will these new movies coming out with women centric roles be a hit?

depends highly on the script. Woman centric roles with a good script have proved to be hit in the past, ask Shabana Azmi or Smita Patil. We recently had Fashion which belonged solely to Priyanka Chopra who I believed rightly walked away with "ALL" the awards including the National.

Yeah I agree. But with Fashion I think people were interested in the topic. Because a lot of youngsters who want to be models etc and its interesting to watch. I didn't think Priyanka was that great in it though. she was okay. I think Kangana was good though, but she too not that great. But I think Kangana's performance was more powerful than priyanka's. I also think that these women centric roles would work if the script is good enough and the topic/subject is interesting enough for the mass.

I also like to think of Jab We Met as a women centric role. Kareena walked away with all the awards and shahid didn't. She was the life of the film many people say. And Jab We Met was also a hit.

In some of the scense Priyanka was amazing in her acting. But do agree with you with Kangana's acting. She gave very powerfull act.

But some how I dont think Fashion would suit Kareena, so overall I was glad with the cast.

With a strong story, screenplay and characters I'm sure it wouldn't matter whether it is a woman-centric film or not. Unless, in India woman-centric films are not as openly accepted as other films and in other countries. Fashion worked.
Im really excited about all the films posted abover by the topic starter. But I don't think Raavan is woman-centric. Its more of an abhishek-centric film. hehe.....But from the promo it seems like Ash has done a tremendous work.
