srgmp used to be a show where a singers technical merits ,voice quality,range, how many octaves they can sing etc are minutely judged by music pundits and ustads.
here a contestant has to make a huge fan following in the few minutes given to them.they have to make people spend money or they wont survive.the vast middle class has access to phones and mobiles.
IT is true that rags to riches stories sell.worked to some extent in case of rajeev(srgmp) ravinder(ii).in both cases judges hosts guest and contestants were unhappyto see them sticking to their seats when deserving contestants got voted out every week.
In antaras case with the story she has amazing talent.the judges and guests are gushing ,
so are the hosts!!!the contestants too.amey and meenal(shahed mein lipti awaz.top 12 mein hum sabse achi awaaz) on radio.panna on the net.not to mention the press!!!!!who is supportive.

AND last and not least janta is voting enthusiastically......so what is to stop her.SHE IS THE FAVOURITE TO WIN.finally she may or may not but still is the fav.
