Yes he did make a Bengali film about Chhau dance, starring Mithun Chakraborty. Apparently it was inspired by a real-life experience, something to do with physically challenged children.

I'm not sure hey...but now that you mention it, i remember they showed a clip on DID1 once (right after salman's fire dance-act) in which Mithun Chakraborty was dancing while "on" fire 😲
