It's really important not to forget your Tradition BUT haven't We,over the Years Chosen n Abolished some that were Not-so-good?? Like sati, Dowry,not getting Widows remaaried were once Strong Indian traditions Which almost all Intellectual and educated people couldn't support..So I think the way that Not all Traditions are BAd ..Not all traditions are GoOD either like this one..The In-laws washing the Son-inlaw's Feet😵

Yes I would have preferred if he had said NO. I think many grooms do that. Though they don't follow this tradition from where I come, but yes these are very old customs and they r no longer significant.
I'm not saying we should forget out culture, just those that which are no longer needed now. I mean you don't have to wash someone's feet to show them respect, there are many other ways to do that.
