a simple question... a complex answer!!!

angad asked kripa what she actually knew about love... maybe that was just his reaction to her emotional outburst... it may have been a very simple question... but WHAT does she really know about love... i mean the romantic kind of love??

i sumtimes wonder what i know about it myself... apparently... it is a mental condition caused by some sort of hormonal imbalance induced by the htpothalamus under the influence of the blah blah leading to an impulse from the yak yak to the whatever... that's the scientific explanation... but our rich cinematic culture has lead us to believe that love is ... ... actually forget it... if i start on hindi movies and their take on love... i could go on for ages!!! plus... we have all been witness to that oft repeated love cliche in our movies...

so tell me... do you know exactly what love is... coz i dont think i actually understand... perhaps you'll agree with me...!

Love can never be explained in words, it's meant to felt only. you and i can never probably understand what this beautiful emotion really feels like. My Bua and her husband ( one of the most beautiful people I ever met) were truly in love........there for each other 24 x 7.....neutralizing each other's faults...complimenting each other's personalities and immensely happy together. i have never seen a couple like that. My uncle is no more now, he died in an IED blast in Srinagar in 2000. Now, when I look at my Bua, I just don't see that light anymore, it was probably the light of love. She is living on the sole support of that love which he gave her during his lifetime. Love is everything, Sugar, it really is everything. It's just that it is so rare....so so so so so rare.

Nobody can answer this question for you. All I can tell you is that it is a celebration of someone else's life when you just cannot think beyond taht person, when you realise that someone else is more important to you than your very own self. Love is much more than a bio-chemical reaction.......it is God's gift to us but sadly Love is too divine for fault-prone thankless human-beings.

That's so sad and yet so sweet nitica. I wish that had never happened. Yet at least she knew the meaning of true love.

Love is very difficult to hold in terms of any dictionary. For centuries together writers and poets have tried to put the feeling into words.It's not a new phenomenon which have sprouted out of bollywood movies.

Nor it is an emotion restricted to us homo sapiens. I saw a pair of very ferocious german shephards who were so devoted to each other that when one of them died,the other one stopped eating and drinking,even responding to commands,so much so that he had to be treated by the vet for canine depression. He almost died. In one month he had lost so much weight that he looked a ghost of his former formidable self.

He did come out of it but occassionally he would let out a soulful cry whenever he chanced upon a toy his mate used to play with.Then sit with it for hours at end. Eventually the whole house had to be cleared out of anything that belonged to his mate.

I refuse to believe that love is just a reaction of some chemicals playing hop scotch in the body.

Ask a parent.When his or her son gets hurt, why does the heart somersaults in the mouth? Why a look of torment in the eye of the child leaves you feeling tormented? Why does the look of yearning form your partner 20 years after marriage still carry the flames?

That was a very personal and touching incident you shared with us Nitica......and very heart-warming!

I wonder where the love has gone from our lives, though?
