why did ishan's mom & badimaa did not attend his wedding? why were they updated about the marriage rituals on phone?

Ishaan's mom i.e. Shruti Ulfat was not well in real life. She had serious throat problem. This was also indicated in one of her dialogues while she was on phone with Alok. She was not in a state to speak and could not shoot for the wedding. Hence to adjust with this, it was shown that badi ma and her were at home busy with other preparations.

and I think there was some old bengali tradition according to which mother does not attend in her son's wedding.though i don't know whether that is followed now-a days or not

yea...you are right...there exists such a custom in Bengali's but this is not the case here. Neither Ishaan's family is Bengali nor Suhana's.

well in the eastern India the mother dsnt attend the son's wedding (nazar lagti hai or sumthng)bt tht is not applicable here i think..they are from delhi rt?
