Why pick only Salman, asks incensed dad

"I won't comment on the Jodhpur Court's order against Salman. If my son is guilty, let the judiciary decide. I only wonder why he has to be the only one to face the music?" asked Salim Khan, father of actor Salman, who was sentenced by Jodhpur Chief Judicial Magistrate BK Jain at Jodhpur.

"The vehicle of one top politician's PA ran over two persons killing them. Have you read in any newspaper that one Deputy Forest Officer killed a black buck? Instances are many. But Salman was put in the prison for 18 days on allegations of his car running over some people sleeping on a pavement in Bandra," said Salim.

When asked what the course of action he was contemplating following the court verdict, Salim said, "We'll appeal in the Sessions Court against the lower court's order. There are several legal recourses. Law is supreme."

"Imagine seven people were acquitted, and now it seems that Salman was the only person who drove the vehicle and killed the black bucks single-handedly," said the script-writer. "Supposing these people were not guility, just imagine what sort of trauma they must have gone through in all these years from when the case started."

Seven other accused in the case, including comedian Satish Shah, were acquitted by Chief Judicial Magistrate BK Jain. Salman's constant companion GS Shera, who also looks after his security, said from Jodhpur Salman had not been rattled by the verdict.

"He's cool and leading a normal life. He had his lunch. We'll weigh our legal options after returning to Mumbai."
