The Sanjay Dutt-Arshad Warsi jodi in MUNNABHAI MBBS, which made the film a smash hit at the box-office with the duo's perfect comic timing, will be seen in another hilarious film besides the sequel to MUNNABHAI MMG. The film is titled ANTHONY KAUN HAI and marks producer Nikhil Panchamiya's foray into big-time film-making after his moderate production debut with DIL MAANGE MORE. It will be directed by Panchamiya's one-time colleague and friend, Raj Kaushal, and will be extensively shot in a 45-day schedule on Krabi beach in Thailand, Bangkok from February 17. "It is a comedy thriller based in Thailand with an extraordinary story line. It was Raj Kaushal who came up with this brilliant idea and I was game for it," says Panchamiya.
Besides Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi, who play the two central characters in the film, there's Minissha Lamba, Anuradha Dandekar, Gulshan Grover, Raghuveer Yadav and a host of other artistes. The film has been written by Shoumik Sen and has Himesh Reshmmiya's rocking musical score, with Hemant Chaturvedi doing the cinematography.
According to Panchamiya, he had been looking forward to working with director Raj Kaushal ever since he made his production debut with DIL MAANGE MORE. "I have known Raj for a long time now. He was an assistant to Mukul Anand when I was handling the production. I was also the Executive Producer of PYAR MEIN KABHI KABHI which was his directorial debut," he reveals.
He adds that the credit for getting Sanjay Dutt to sign the film and give priority dates goes entirely to Arshad Warsi. "We owe it to Arshad for Sanjay's presence in the film and his initiative to give priority dates for the film. Had it not been for him, we would have had to wait for another one year for Sanju's dates," Panchamiya reveals.
This is the second film that will be shot on the exotic Krabi beach, the last one being Feroz Khan's JANASHEEN. "It is one of the most scenic and beautiful places in the world, with a very picturesque landscape. I wanted the film to be unique in every respect even in its location," says the excited producer.
