I saw ATKJ yesterday and enjoyed the movie so much!
Reminded me of the type of films Hrishikesh Mukherjee and Basu Chatterjee used to make! Light-hearted, witty yet meaningful! It does not have the slapstick type of comedy that Bollywood churns out these days, rather, the humor is incorporated beautifully into the storyline and the characters!
The story is pretty simple, a young, cosmopolitan and busy couple live with their son in Bombay and their relatively peaceful life is interrupted by the arrival of an 'Atithi' / Guest who claims to be the hero's uncle! How the lives of the three members and the lives of people around them changes because of this guest is basically the story!
Paresh Rawal is the star of the show and gives a natural, fun-filled performances as Lambodar Chacha, the highly irritating yet immensely warm hearted guest. Ajay Devgun and Konkana are both restrained yet very funny as the trapped couple who have no idea how to get rid of their guests! The kid who plays their son is really cute!
Its an enjoyable film, one that doesn't challenge a viewer's intelligence, even though it is a comedy! It is the kind of story that is very believable and relatable!
Go watch it!😃

Fianlly saw it and it rocks. best part about this comedy is that tehy dont have stupid jokes or intenially try to mkae u laugh. it is the situations that make you laugh because we have all been there when we have uninvted guests.

good message, great actors, good scrpit=perfect movie.

ajay should do more comedys he is good at it. kokena, yes finally we ahve a comedy where the female gets ACT and not only be eye candy. she rocked her role.

just one question might contain a *spolier*. when chachaji comes to live with them he says ajays dad name was "putaani", if chchaji was not really there guest in the first place then why does ajay not know his won dads anme????

Putani is supposedly Ajay's Dad's pet name and he assumes that his Father was called so by his relatives! This basically also showed how far removed Ajay's character is from his own family members, that he doesn't even realize his own Father's pet name! 😆

Remember how he says he had left a number of years ago and wasn't in touch with any of his relatives. He was kinda confused himself, so he does end up thinking that maybe it is his relative. 😆😆 Chacha ji was also from the same gaaon though, so Ajay ends up thinking that it probably is his father's pet name. 😆
