Yikes- have people not heard about "open" exams? You "register with a school but do your exams as an independent candidate. Every child or adult need not go to a regular high school to write the 12th grade exam. I wish these writers do some research bfore they belt out such stupid story lines. this way they can also educate the public about not getting obsessive about school admissions. there is something called home study. there is something called open exams. there is something called technical education centers or vocational training centers. come on Jyoti- do some research for your sis- given that u r now a columnist, you could "advise" your readers about these amazing unconventional options available for education.

I actually think correspondence is an option. I have someone in my family who got married before her 12th exams and came to the US, and then went back to India for a couple months to study and give her exams. She studied at home and just went to take the exam. Also, thats the same thing Sudha did. So there's no reason Sushma can't do the same.

I really feel they are using this track as an excuse to have some more scenes where Sushma gets laughed at and mocked for being pregnant. Then Jyoti will find out abt the bullying and give Sushma's peers a huge speech which will shut them up.

You are right - I totally forgot about Sudha. This storyline - of digging up a pretext for Jyoti to give a major public bhashan - is really annoying. I agree w/ blokes above - there are so many ways to study w/o being embarrassed, even in India.

But won't Sushma need a private tutor or someone to explain things to her? I'm also surprised that Sudha could ace her exams w/o one, no matter how studious she was. Speaking of her studiousness, last night, b4 she requested Uday that they not have kids until Jyoti's kid was accepted into the family, she was sitting w/ a book and reading. Who knows what she wants to do next?
