What was Mini trying to say????

Hi guys,

It was really funny how Sony is trying to defend the mess that they have (almost) made out of II2 by hyping up performance, makeover etc.. Mini made some funny remarks about why judges harp about " gayaki, gayaki, gayaki" and her comment that Antara is not here to be a playback singer..it was hilarious and to some extent outrageous.. every single participant there is there because they want to make a career in Playback singing.. Mini knows that and Sony knows that..after all, playback singing is the MUSIC INDUSTRY in India, apart from pure classical singers, the most popular, most respected singers in the country are from the playback industry.. so any musical reality show is based on the implicit assumption that the winners would become playback singers.. Mini made it sound as if playback singer is a deregatory term as oposed to a so called 'performer'.. now I don't understand what they mean by a 'performer'.. somebody is either singing, or dancing, or acting, or doing comedy, or something else while on stage.. so a good performance means doing what you are doing well.. and interacting with the audience in an engaging way..that's it..if you are not good in your primary skill, how can you call it a good performance?

I found this whole argument ridiculous..what say you?

Playback singer ya thats true the example is Sonu Nigam by Himself 😉

I believe if Indian Idol is all about performance on stage ..then Panna Would not have been voted out... 'coz he sang well and had beena great performer throughout... what do you think???????? singing is the main focus but being confident on stage and taking audience in your grip is something different you can be a great singer but if you can not appeal your audience by your stage presence then it doesnot make any sense.. think of KIshoreKumar who had both... don't get me wrong I AM NOT COMPARING PANNA WITH KISHORE it is just a viewpoint..... any way janta janardan being out ofIndia we are sitting helplessly.....

every contestant including winners are only looking for a chance to be in the film industry.in every forum there is so much rejoicing if one of them gets to sing a single song for a film.no body is interested in the number of stage shows they do or private albums they bring out.
shaan,sonu,kunal,kk every one of them looked towards the film industry .they and (we) measure their success by the number of bollywood songs they have sung

In India this is a fact.Antara shd consider herself lucky.
