Both Filmfare and Mumbai Mirror are owned by the Times Group which also owns the Times of India newspaper. Looks like the the management has apologised in private, but Big B wants a puplic apology in Mumbai Mirror which has not happened.
To show his displeasure he and his family are not attending the Filmfare awards.

His writing from his blog,

There is much here that needs explanation and it would need expanse and more time. Suffice to say for the moment that despite a few personal apologies from management, no public apology has taken place. You cannot abuse me in public and then come and say sorry to me in private.

So ' even though we have great relations with the family in ownership and despite the fact that we have continuously responded to their needs whenever desired, unstintingly -

the lawyers notice has been delivered to the editor of Mumbai Mirror, seeking on a legal plane retraction and apology -

and we have informed Filmfare that neither will Aishwarya be performing at the event, for which all preparations had been made and neither shall any of us be attending. Which includes Balki the director of the film, even when Paa has been nominated in five categories for the evening. No coercion, just a voluntary decision of solidarity. Thank you Balki !! Instead he shall be coming over to discuss a few new and exciting ideas for our next film !! Could'nt have chosen a better time !!!

Let me rest now. I shall fill in more by the morn ..

Mornings are good for a clean and reinvigorated mind ' they are also good for wishes of a pleasant night !! Ha ha ..

Love

Aishwarya Rai boycotts award function

She won't dance

Aishwarya Rai is an angry young lady nowadays. And she isn't in the mood to forget or forgive the tabloid that recently published a report of her having pregnancy problems because of stomach tuberculosis.

Now, the Bachchan bahu rani has boycott an award ceremony because the function is associated with the mother company of that same tabloid.

Main nahi nachhongi no matter how strong the lure of lucre. That's the message Ash seems to be sending.

According to media reports, Ash has backed out of performing at the award function for which she was offered a staggering Rs 85 lakhs. This was the only event for which she had agreed to perform this year.

Ash is demanding an apology from the tabloid and her parivar is with her, supporting this decision. She has even mailed the tabloid about the slanderous report and asked for an apology but none has come from the tabloid till now.

Seen her beauty, now see her anger!

i KNOW!! they are boycotting filmfare as soon it's confirmed srk saif are performing. I won't blame or drag abhishek here. He's one charming and honest person in Bachchan paarivar. But Amitabh needs to stop blogging. It hasn't helped him at all in anyway.

OMG this is just disgusting i thought it was rumors but he is confirming that its true here i cant believe they act like this.. and why filmfare?
MM is bad and false everyone knows that and what they did print about Ash was disgusting of them to do but now i think the Bachachans is completly over reacting on this issue and they make it even worse with this act.... come on there have been 1000 of such things with other celebs to but they have not act it like this.. after all they have choosen this career and have to face it and not take everything so seriously....
the bachchans should stop over react over this and just move on and mm should now stop crossing their lines...

That piece of news is not true. SRK is in good terms with AB and family. The gossipmongers keep dragging SRK name to any controversy regarding the Bachchan's to grab eyeballs. AB has cofirmed the true reasons in his blog.
