Mithun Chakraborty undergoes surgery
Yesteryear superstar Mithun Chakraborty recently underwent a shoulder surgery after injuring himself during the filming of Veer.
But that isn't stopping the actor from fulfilling his commitment to Dance India Dance – the television show on which he plays the main judge.
"Half way through the filming of Veer, Mithunsir hurt himself quite badly. We had shown him to specialists right away but he was recommended surgery which at that time was not an option," says the star's manager.
"If he went through the surgery, he would have to take complete bed rest for at least two months. That would have upset Veer's schedule. So he survived on painkillers. But now it was become too much and he was instructed by his doctor to undergo the surgery right away," he adds.
At 63 years of age, Chakraborty is still one of the fittest stars in the industry. Put on a special diet and fitness routine, he surprised many by his physique when Veer released.
"These days he is only working on Dance India Dance once a week on Mondays and the rest of the week he is locked away at home. That's the same day he does any other commitments he may have but other than that he is not allowed to step out or do anything that is strenuous," he informs.
The manager adds that even today the senior star is getting many offers for movies but with his health requiring care he is taking things slightly easier. At the moment the star has only signed on Rohit Shetty's Golmaal 3.
