Hey everyone ..
Thank you all for your replies - Aaditti, pridaholic (sorry, don't know your name), Khushi, Jhan, Shweths, Sid2121, Soni, Mru, Krupsie, Rachel, Rads, Samira, Carie, Aparajhita, Achu .. I appreciate all your comments and POV's 🤗 🤗
I understand what all of you are saying .. and I agree with everything you guys say. I understand the anger and disappointment with Prithvi, Sameer & Varun .. and its even justified. I don't deny that .. as I myself am disappointed at some level. But now .. come to think of it .. there has been a reason behind all this. I have only one explanation .. and to me, it makes more sense than ever before!
Firstly .. we have to accept that post Ila's death .. the CV's/makers turned the show around to a complete saas-bahuish drama. For whatever reasons .. whether it was TRP's or the channel's decision to revamp .. the effect of it all was seen in LNMDJ. I believe the plan to change the track came about in Oct-Nov .. after which they started making changes to the story. And once the decision was taken .. they went ALL OUT changing the show's premise from a romantic thriller .. to saas-bahu drama. Soon, the revenge track was revealed, and one after the other, Inder was exposed, Ila died .. and PTC entered their lives. Following PTC's entry .. everything was a CLICHE & it all became PREDICTABLE!
Coming to Prithvi, Sameer and Varun .. I'm not surprised they reacted the way they did. To be honest .. I was sorta expecting it. If Prithvi would have reacted any different .. it would be a miracle! After PTC's entry .. nothing about LNMDJ was "different" anymore.
I see only ONE reason behind all this .. something that is a norm in Indian television .. in all saas-bahu dramas - and that is to highlight the female lead/protagonist!
Indian television's main viewership consists of women .. mainly housewives. And that is the audience most serials cater to. When LNMDJ was revamped to saas-bahuish .. the CV's strived to highlight Damini - going from being the perfect housewive & bahu .. to the one suffering .. and subsequently, when the truth comes out .. and she realises the security of her family is threatened .. she stands up against all odds and fights her battles! Take any soap female lead over the years .. be it Tulsi, Parvati, Kumkum, Prerna, Sadhna, Ragini, Akshara .. and the list goes on - this has all been their story!
Female leads in Indian TV serials are of prime importance .. and writers/makers/CV work towards showing them above the rest. Women in Indian television are the epitome of love, epitome of sacrifices, epitome of forgiveness, epitome of strength and courage .. etc .. etc! That is exactly what happened in LNMDJ too! And today .. with Damini's turnaround .. and the fact that the sisters first found out about PTC .. my point is somewhat proved!!
Like all of you .. I too wish that Prithvi had supported and believed Damini. I would have loved to have seen the brothers find out about PTC .. rather all together, find out the truth and fight it all out together.
The PriDaholics/SaVnians/VaRnians in us would have loved to see the jodi's battle it out together .. but fact is, the heroes & pati's in most serials are there for the romance and dialogues .. but when it comes to action .. its the women who go all out! And I've given enough examples of female leads above. And funny thing na .. all of them .. super popular!!! What does this say about the mindset of the television viewing audience?? The audience that gets in the TRP's .. love to see the female protagonists rise from the ashes!! Like its happening with Damini now .. and together, the 3 sisters fighting their battle!
Its sad that in Indian television the male leads are, most often, relegated to the background in saas-bahu dramas 😕 ... while the female leads become the Jhansi Ki Rani's 😳 Its sad to see the men not do much .. but the feminist in all of us should be proud that women in Indian television have that stature .. while it is, in most cases, the men who get most of the due in the movies!
Ofcourse .. had the CV's stuck to their original plan of keeping the show "different", then the story would have been something else altogether. But unfortunately, they went into the predictable zone .. and messed it all up! Honestly .. I won't be surprised, if the last week of LNMDJ garners the max TRP's! But then .. its too late now

Awesome post, very interesting.

I never knew there was a Prithvi side and a Damini side. If there are sides, then the super 6 are on one side and all other evil/distorted beings on the other.

Coming to P's reaction, I was highly disappointed that he didn't stay to hear D out. But in his defence, he was her staunchest supporter. D should have confessed her so-called mistake to P early on. But ofcourse there had to be drama coz we're currently in the gharelu track and gharelu=unnecessary drama. And the CVs had to explore another side of Chandana's brilliant acting skills.
In all these, I don't think it's a question of D forgiving P. I'm sure D did not feel let down by P. Because, according to her, accidental though it may be, she was responsible for the death. She felt more guilty about the pain she inflicted than being heartbroken for not being believed that it was an accident.
Regarding P, I will understand if he's upset that D had hid the cause of death from him. But I'll hate him if he thinks D did this on purpose or blames her on the count of carelessness. Because D went way beyond the call of duty to take care of his mom. And Prithvi Saxena, you know that.
As for Sameer, he's got some nerve accusing and insulting D after Suman's death. The only explanation I can give is that he thought that D did what he himself would have done had he been in D's place. Being accusatory and all I can yet choose to ignore and attribute it to his impulsive nature but bringing up the step-sis angle, that's so not cool.

Not just this turn of events, I've always loved the sisters more than the brothers. ALWAYS, right from the very beginning. They are simply the BESTEST. Ila herself was such an awesome lady, a rockstar mom. She raised 3 amazing girls. Each of them so caring and loving, never harming anybody, always supporting each other. The only mistake they made was to fall in love. And what love they were - pure, genuine and unconditional. Those Saxena brothers must have done lots of punya in their past lives to have those angels in their present lives.
After every mistake they make, the girls forgive them because they love them so much. And we forgive them because they are so good-looking 😊 . The girls score over the guys in the intelligence department big time. But the guys have their hearts in the right place. They are simply emotional fools. At the end of the day, we love our jodis, don't we! The magical moments that they shared, their journey from being strangers to soulmates, can't help but root for them.

The gharelu track should never have happened, instead it should have been 'prove their love and worth' track. But oh well, atleast I can take the consolation that the 3 creepos managed to create mayhem only after killing one of their own family. Otherwise, for most part of this track, all their plans backfired and the jodis got closer. Failed disastrous plans seem to run in the guys' family 😊

Can't believe I've written an essay on fictional characters 😳
