Apparently in the promos Abhi shows up and says "Stop the wedding, and that Nukul can't marry Simi because Simi is his love." Hold on a sec, don't you think Simi should be the one doing this? After all, Abhi is engaged to Simi who has failed to follow through with her commitments and instead has chosen to marry Nukul? I don't get it. If he shows up, what does he think that these guys are going to stop a wedding? The only way this wedding could be stopped is Simi wants it stopped. It's rather exhausting watching Abhi running to the Mendhi, getting beaten up to get out the first wedding invite (come to this later), and then trying to get to the wedding itself.
I am not sure what is so enthralling or suspenseful about this show when the key point is that if Simi wanted to end it she could. I am saddened that I never saw a confident Abhi in the end who was willing to walk away with his dignity.
Like I said earlier, you cannot make someone love you; in the same way if someone wants to be with you, they will be with you no matter what. If I loved a guy, and I knew he loved me, I would fight tooth and nail against any odds to be with him. I would make matters better. Simi has not even said to Abhi, I don't want to marry Nukul, how can we get out of this mess? Instead she demeans him in front of her own family.
Where was this Simi who said "Abhi is ghar ka damad hai?" - that was a short lived moment.
I find NOTHING appealing in this relationship nor do I consider this "chemistry" except for the pungent, toxic and destructive kind. This is not love but a sick and warped relationship.

You and I would stand up for the man we love. However, this is Simi Ji a woman who has been rejected for marriage, demeaned by her family, and doesn't have the cahoona's to stand up for herself. She is new to all of this and Abhi knows it. That is why he continues to fight for her. His love for her knows no bounds. He knows she won't fight for herself. If Abhi wanted it easy he could have walked away and married someone else with no problem. He himself says he has taken on some tuff comers so this is just a days work for him. Superman Abhi will emerge victorious from this just wait and see.

She has not been demeaned by her father who has stood by her. Her sister never demeaned her. Neetu is angry at the moment. I am sorry, but if a woman has no self-respect to stand up for herself when her partner is willing to be there, what does that say about her even after she gets married to him? Plus it makes no sense this weakness as we have seen Simi speak up when she demeaned Abhi and when she spoke up to Anita. Also wasn't she supposed to have overcome this when she took the rod and tried to attack those gondas or was that just a short-lived moment for that episode.
If tomorrow her mother asks her to walk out of the marriage, will she do it then? Also what is attractive in a person who cannot commit to love? I see no rationale, rhyme or reason for Abhi to fight for her.
She has plenty of support in her father and Abhi, but for Simi it's not enough. The point is that there are women in life who have less then this and still they fight against greater odds. I simply see no reason on Simi's part to be so passive or weak.
And so what if she was rejected in the past? If she is supposed to love Abhi, and he's the one who matters, then screw all previous rejections.

For someon to be brought up in a loving family it is hard to believe that anyone could be this spineless. It took me 10 yrs of marriage to learn to stand up for myself with the help of my husband. When you are put down by your own mother and always told you are nothing it has a very big effect on ones self esteem. Granted Simi has taken it too far and not given Abhi the respect he deserves. But I understand where Simi comes from. It will take a lot of effort from Abhi to convince her of her self worth. I myself am living proof. Although mine was an arranged marriage. I love SimBhi and I for one am rooting for them all the way.

daboo89 great to hear that you have had a wonderful marriage. For me the whole thing has gone too far especially since she has such a supportive father and sister. Had she had neither parent with her I would understand. Despite Abhi's efforts, she had continually treated him like a second class citizen. People with low self-esteem and worth do not go out of their way to hurt people who care for them. If they do, the term is borderline personality disorder and these kinds of women need serious help.

Laila,
I am with you in your disgust and also feeling disgusted that not just the audience in India from where the sunshiners get the TRPs, it is online viewers too who thrive on this melodrama.
I saw n number of threads today (all rephrased with set same set of words arranged differently) where they are so happy that RB has come finally to rescue Abhi or that Nakul will give up Simi. Please read my additional comments in a diff thread https://www.indiaforums.com/forum/post/27847672
So disgusted, not by the maha episode, bcos that was exactly what I expected, but by people's views and their gloatings that RB is here to help. I am so dumbfounded that I am seriously trying to understand what am I surrounded by here.
If this is what people want then our pleas for a sensible storyline is going to fall on deaf ears for sure.
I better sign off before my head goes vroom vroom !!
