When Anita tells her mother that Simi plans to marry Nukul, why does Simi not admit the truth? She rushes to the house to lie to her and tell her that she's wrong in thinking Simi is marrying Nukul? So who does Simi plan to marry - both of them?
Simiji, you cannot have your cake and eat it too. India is a progressive country but the idea of a woman with two men in her life at the same time - that is married to them - does not go down well society. It's even worse than getting hitched with a younger guy or bearing a child out of wedlock.
I don't understand this whole family; even Manju has not called Mrs. Tarneja to tell her the marriage is off. I really hope that Mrs. Tarneja speaks up'; I will be so disappointed if she remains silent. Fine, she can get mad at herself for introducing the Daggars to the Seethis but her actions are forgiveable in that she had no idea that Simi was interested in her own son.
Still, Simi has no excuse to prolong any of this with the Tarnejas anymore. If she cannot tell Dadi Daggar she's with Abhi, she can at least tell the truth to Mrs. Tarneja.
On an end note, if Mrs. Tarneja was a really smart woman, she would have gone to Simi and asked her if she was interested in a rishta. She would have known at that point if Simi was open to the idea. That's what I do when I know a girl is single and there is potential suitor. That way, if the girl doesn't like the guy she can say no without dealing with pressures from her parents to meet the guy or even get to know him. I think it's more respectful - after all she's the one who has to marry the guy.
