Didn't the Tarneja's know the truth about Omi?

What fascinates me is how is it that the Tarnejas didn't know about Omi's disability? When Anusha fowarded the Nukul rishta to the Seethi's, I am pretty certain both she and her husband knew the truth as did Abhi and Anita. However, when Omi came to the house it was as if Abhi just found out that Omi was disabled. What's going on here? It's as if they family have kept Omi hidden from the rest of the world and just revealed him to the public. It might explain why he'd never seen a girl before.

Frankly speaking the character of Omi is really annoying. I don't find anything endearing about him and he's played over the top by the actor. He clearly has not spent anytime doing any research on autism. Instead he's acting like an idiot and it looks terrible.

Abhi might be knowing Laila but he better get his better halkf staright on track then think abt others His focus was soo much on not getting thois Roka done with Nakul and Simi that he did'nt want to think abt anything
Simi needs to know things FACTS otherwise telling her anything just dose'nt work

Laila anita knew that is why she was happy. abhi and anusha were so much into getting simi they dd not think about it or assumed that sethis might have known anout Omi.

Or abhi might have thought that nitu being pregnent can not marry any one esle and since vicky gone they have to marry nitu some where so he porb kept quiet.

So true the reaction of abhi was strange just like when abhi saw nakul he acted like he did not know who was nakul.

Or this can be a blooper too showing such expressions. I don't think Omi is autistic.

omi is classified as mand buddhi may be a person with low IQ.. or in harsh word retard a guy with low IQ yet able to function in other ways doing chores but can not understand complex things.

Anita, Abhi really looked surprised, or might be they diddnt expect it to be omi.......

By the way did the cvs disclose ant Omi is autistic ...... I dont remember hearing nay thing like that or have i missed it. ( through me he dosent seem to be autistic)

I have never heard of a "mand buddhi" in the DSM-IV (Diagnostic manual for psychiatrists and psychologists) and the new word is "intellectual disability" not retard. Also some people who are autistic actually have pretty good IQ levels; they have problems socially relating to others.

CVS (sounds like a pharmacy store here in the US, have no idea what this stands for) have not paid attentiont to the storyline. Playing on the success of what will be My Name is Khan, these people think, just put in some guy with some type of disablity and it will bring the TRPs up.

I am watching this show and thinking, what the heck is supposed to be going on with this guy? Did the writers consult with the same doctors and textbooks that gave them Anu and Simi's recent breakdown? Cause that's the only place they could pull this stuff from. The guy playing the part is an atrociously bad actor. Did he even spend time as SRK did researching intellectual disabilities or did he think, "I just need to act a bit weird and that all it will take?"

I know a lot of you here really love the Omi character. I don't care for him but so the need for him to help give Manju a wake up call. But what I find strikingly odd is why this entire forum is hell bent on this guy apparently bringing everyone together? That's something I don't get. In my opinion I would consider that the dumbest approach to take in the storyline.

Laila , on monday they might tell what problem Omi is suffering from.. Lets see then. I am sure he is not autistic

never thought of it Laila.......have stopped thinking anything about this show actually...but still watch to see abhi and RS...we will not be surprised if they tell Omi is suffering from the same problem that rizwan khan is suffering from....grrr
