Well this is just about something I saw yesterday, was pleasantly surprised and very pleased by it. Anyone saw the little jig of the head Shakti did at Terence when she won the "Best Performance of the Day" award, and how Terence laughed it off and then did a thumbs up? 😛 I LOVED watching that flow of easiness, that bond Terence has with his Toli.

I always knew Terence loved his students. He's been the only judge I've seen has ever stood up to comfort, hug, or otherwise when anyone is in pain or injured. Do you think that's how a mentor should be, how a master should act? Should the contestants have their say and have an informal flowing relationship with their teacher, or should it be cordial and strictly professional like we've seen Geeta in for example, at least relatively. Do you think it tends to affect or change the performances, or also affect other contestants from the other gangs. What do you think about it all? 😃

I'll give my two cents later on... 😆

P.S This is not a thread to say how much we love Terence, though that may slip in from time to time 😆😳, but compare about how ALL the judges have acted this season so far with their groups on and the tidbits off screen as well. Also, let's just respect everyone's opinion and let everyone have their say. Let's roll it on... 😃
yes...i agree with you...i noticed the little jig of the head too... and the relationship each mentor shares with their students...hmm...i think each of them have a special way to be with their student...if i remember last year, in the mentor special episodes where they got feedback from the contestants and others....apart from the jokes and pulling leg thing that happened...you also got to see the different ways the mentors are with their students...
remo is easy going...friendly with them...like someone had said...doesnt feel like a mentor student relationship. so its easy breezy....
geeta is like a maaa...caring, overprotective sometimes...like a guide...who they listen to.
terence is also very caring in a different way...apart from the easiness with his students and the care tha the takes with them...like you described......there seems to be a lot of respect for him...and respect for him as a teacher/dancer as a professional and a lottt of respect for the person he is.....like someone to look up to...he seems to make a difference to them as people....So i guess love and respect is there...that loving authority, with whom you have the freedom to be yourselg with and yet grow inwards...he instilsl that in his students...that i dont see any other mentor on any other show doing...making the contestants grow as people...and he knows his contestants well...as people...so thats good. Also i remember jai ad written that terence gave him the opportunity to choreograph some of his solos...i think that speaks very highly of a teacher...to actually let go and give them a chance...
so yeah...amongst the three...terence is my favourite as a teacher...because there is a blend of love and respect....its not sooo much easiness to even overrule the mentor...its easiness to express oneself...like vrushali being uncomfortable about the hai rama...and as a mentor understanding from where she came...
Also his toli always seems the most bonded...between themselves..always...last season and this....thats nice to see...
