Today, Bollywood is all about money and gossip - which star is earning more, who is the highest paid actor, who's dating whom and who's the hottest! Even when we watch films, it's just a month-long memory for us. We take a look at some actors whose films and performances made more news than their personal lives. These are some of the actors we want to see back on screen. |
Dharmendra: Whether it is television or films, Amitabh Bachchan is everywhere. We agree that he is the Godfather of Bollywood but we seem to have forgotten the He-Man of Bollywood, Dharmendra, who was every woman's dream in his prime. Even today, when we watch his films, they are just as enjoyable. How we miss him! We miss his comedies like Chupke Chupke and Sholay and, of course, his romantic films. His last film Johnny Gaddaar did pretty well, and so did Apne, in which he starred with his sons. We hope that some director will cast him in very good film like Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya, and if a film is made with him and wife Hema, it would be the cherry on the cake. |
Karisma Kapoor: It's a known fact that the Kapoor girls don't do movies once they are married, but we really miss the innocent Karisma Kapoor, who once ruled Bollywood, starring in a variety of films like Coolie No.1, Biwi No.1, Zubeidaa, Raja Hindustani and Fiza. At her time, none of her films were flops, as people loved to watch her onscreen. Her jodi was famous with Govinda, and both of them have done some outstanding comedies together. Her comic timing, figure, looks, acting, just about everything was perfect. Her sister Kareena is glowing and is on the top of the charts now, but we would like to see Karisma Kapoor back on screen. It would be great if the two were cast together. |
Chitrangada Singh: She is just two films old in the industry. She made her debut with the spectacular Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi, after which she took a hiatus and returned with Sorry Bhai. She is married and has a son, but she is sultry, smokin' hot and stunning, with a dazzling figure and acting talent to boot. If she does mainstream films, she will give every actress a run for her money. This year, she has two films lined up: Dhruv with Farhan Akhtar and Basra with Abhay Deol. So let's hope, she gets serious about films and uses her talent. |
Rani Mukherji: What went wrong with Rani is still a mystery. It must be her attitude and over aggressive nature, rudeness, ego problem and dating a married man which has left her with no films. Suddenly, she has no friends in B-town. She has proven her mettle as an actor and is a darling of the audiences. In spite of her fan following and sparkling performance, Dil Bole Hadippa, her comeback film, tanked. She is secretive about her projects, but we wish she regains her 'Queen of Bollywood' tag. |
Preity Zinta: We miss the bubbly Miss Zinta and how! She is sweet, lively, sophisticated, friendly, sexy, smart and glamourous. Audiences and industry-wallahs love her. She has been busy with the IPL lately and did a few art films like Videsh, but we'd love to see her in a masala flick. From what we hear, Preity is raring to do hardcore Bollywood films too. |

Darsheel Safary: Taare Zameen Par made him an overnight superstar and people couldn't stop raving about his phenomenal talent. His school mates may feel that he has developed attitude now that he has become a superstar, but we miss his cute bunny smile. Well, some children-centric films should be made for Darsheel, so that his innate talent can shine. His film, Bum Bum Bhole, directed by Priyadarshan and inspired by Majid Majidi's Children of Heaven has been in the making for a while and might release in summer 2010. |
