@Raghuraj...yes the voting system by these shows have increased the hunger of people to make their region, religion person win inspite of him or her not being the best... and it sucks how the shows promote Punjab ka puttar, Maharashtra ki mulgi, Gujurat ki shaan...why get all these silly lines when all they need to say is...Vote for the best....

@luvmusic, I too wish somehow the old srgmp days come back where music and sur was given more importance...and only knowledgeable gurus judged the singers...nowadays all shows are a farce, more than the contestants the judges are promoted with their dramebaazi and naarebaazi...

Its sounds good on paper that someone is versatile but in real world its good to be leader in at least one particular area, that will fetch work. And lets not compare these singers with previous legendary singers. Now a days we have so many different voices and types of music that its very tough to be exceptional in all type of songs.

At least be fantastic on 1-2 type of songs so that whn those type of songs are made then Music director will have only his/her name in mind. versatility is added bonus..
