Technical Editing absolutely Horrible

Hello everyone,

I hope someone from the production house will read this as criticism will only help them improve their quality of the show.
I have never in my entire life seen such horrendous editing skills being applied on Indian television.
On a daily basis, one can understand that circumstances arise due to many different factors, but that excuse cannot be applied every time.
Definitely, Mayank and Nupur's wedding was a major event in Miley Jab Hum Tum, but such neglectful behavior from the technical team was not expected at all. Such an important event was presented so poorly.
One can wonder why Miley Jab Hum Tum does not have so many bank episodes...
Of course if everything will be edited in such manner... I wouldn't be surprised if they barely manage to complete a full 30 minute episode.
Let me get technical here: Stop applying fade in and fade out effects every second of the way. Not only is it annoying, but it makes it very obvious that editing is being done.
As an editor, It is our job to not let the audience know there is any editing going on. That should be the goal of an editor, but here i feel everything was done to make editing impossible to ignore.

I was watching a few SBS, U Me aur TV, p7, and SBB segments and one could not fail to notice the amount of scenes that were shot yet not even a glimpse was shown in the actual episode.
May I ask why?

So fine maybe there were other technical difficulties due to why those scenes could not be added then my question is as an editor could you not have done anything extra to make that moment so special.

Let me remind everyone this is not just done occasionally, but it has become a constant thing. I think we all can remember times when MN or SG scenes were edited. Sometimes we saw amazing precaps, but the scene failed to appear in the actual episode.
Once again as I said you can apply excuses over and over again, but when you miss out on such a big event as MayUr wedding then I am sorry to say you all are decreasing the quality of your show.

ya whoever's editing needs to step up their game....i noticed, especially the scene in fridays episode where nupur breaks down after her dad disowns her and mayank comforts her....i dunno from where to where the shots were going...really very pathetic and careless on the editors' part....it was a very sloppy job and very disappointing.......naina

Sloppy Job!! that would be an understatement here.
I think everyone noticed that glitch in that scene, but again we can over look small mistakes, but if that carelessness starts to take over major scenes ... then i don't know what to say 🤔

Totally Agree with you gagan, Well said! MJHT's editing is very poor i've even noticed any romantic scenes are also edited so miserably, we always out on the good/important scenes....it is extremely annoying....i can just say, they need to improve - BIG time!!

You are an accomplished editor in your own right and the what you have pointed out makes perfect sense.

The strange part for us viewers with zero editing knowledge or skills was that we were able to notice the editing glitches including a random shot of the floor and the scene after Nupur's bauji walks away and Mayank consoles Nupur, you can make out that they are different scenes put together.
Add to it the Mangalsutra scene and the pheras its a complete disaster in terms of editing.

What happened to those lovely moments we saw in SBS, SBB and U me aur Tv..
Actually showing the 7 pheras of the marriage wouldnot have been too much of the time right.

Please do look at this seriously , its extremely disappointing to see such glitches.

Ah, me agree ...............editing has been a major issue in MJHT, and it was not only wedding but many other times................but yeah if a major event like Mayank and Nupur wedding was also neglected the way...........than god only save them...............

I wonder if any one from the team sees the final product............coz that last scene where Nupur's father leave was horrendous............it was clear that the editor was sleep-walking..................

I so wish we would have got to see more of Mayank - Nupur wedding with all those moments captured in sbs and other segments.................

Gagan....I'm glad you made this topic...I thought I'm the only one who didn't like how the MN marriage scene was presented to the viewers... it was absolutely childish... even beginners like me can make better editing than that... the camera angles were horrible... in one shot only Nupur's head was shown from behind...and in one shot they just showed the floor with MN's dupatta knot......😆

These problems have been persistent right from the beginning of the show. You would think that maybe you would see some kind of improvement, but it is sad to say that instead of improving it worsened.
As said above this is called sloppiness.
As an analogy I could say

It is like a fifth grader turning in their homework that they did 30 minutes before class.

Exactly gagan, instead of improving they just get worse! why cant they deal with it, dont they understand its frustrating for the viewers, who is us!!
