These are all excuses and these feelings come naturally to us as we are such emotional and sensitive people. In SO you think you can dance 10 times better dancers compared to what we have in India get screwed by the judges if they even make a slightest mistake and that helps them to become even better. But here if someone has even done rubbish they will say " Oh poor girl, tried this for the first time so its ok, not bad" and there itself we have set a low standard for our dancers. Thats why today that girl who got eliminated from Terence's team deserved to go out as she tried to do a new style and her efforts were seen on screen as there were so many technique based steps like rond de jambe, pirouette, floor work, spirals that she couldnt do as she didnt receive any formal training and therefore it looked effortful...
But of course Shakti is trained and graduated from TLDFST (Terence Lewis Dance Foundation Scholarship Trust) therefore she is so good. Now this is because she has worked hard to train herself. Before TLA she was with Ashley and she continued to make an effort to train her body with limited resources. Many other students who graduated from TLDFST are not upto the mark as they didnt put an effort and took things seriously then. So whatever she can do today is because she has put lot of hard work into that....
Somewhere its choreographers fault also. When they were given their 6 contestants, which was more than a month back she should have started with Ballet, Jazz training everyday compulsory whether you like it or not and the should have had Latin American, Contemporary, Modern and Indian CLassical training everyday. But they didnt do that and that shows on screen. May be Terence trained his dancers from the very beginning as he is intelligent and very focused towards technique training but I doubt if Geeta and Remo did that. Its shows on the dancers performance that they learned this section in a day or two.
But in SYTYCD even though dancers have done ballet for 10 years or more they still keep training their bodies as training never ends. It ends only after you die but till then you still have to go to the barre and do you plies and tendus. There are no shortcuts to success and that is what we have failed to understand on DID.
Again I would like to mention that the reason I am saying all this is only because I want the show to look better so that DID can make our country proud and show America that we are no less.
I have nothing personal against anybody. Dance is my passion and it irritates me when I see a lousy , mediocre dance show.
And please reduce the drama. DID has more tears and drama then any Balaji serial. Its a dance based show therefore show genuine dance and be realistic.
And stop make a mockery of the male anchor. I wonder how is he taking all the rubbish!

A fan of Jack Cole.
