People,
Calm down! Our Manav will be back. This is a SERIAL. It's not meant to be a complex art work. If we're hooked onto it unwillingly and in spite of what we consider our own intellectual sophistication, it's because the two lead characters are undeniably attractive to look at and share a great on-screen and (apparently) off-screen chemistry. In the final analysis, as we all know but don't like to admit, such basic appeal usually wins out over other more cerebral requirements like plot, milieu, narrative technique, etc. But if we're hooked, we have to play this game by its two cardinal rules: patience with the creatives (who have a job to hold down) and unwavering faith in long-awaited but ultimately satisfying happy endings.
So hold your horses and content yourselves with the occasional furtively hungry glance from our otherwise largely deadpan hero. Be assured, all is not lost. :-)
Thus spake Commentator.
