Salman at the races
Sunday saw the 'Khan'daan drive down to the Turf Club in Mahalaxmi, South Mumbai to watch Salman Khan race with the top jockeys in India. A source present at the event gives us the details.
"Sallu has lost a lot of weight and he looked great. His entire family was present except Malaika Arora and Katrina Kaif. Zarine Khan, her look-alike, and Sallu's Veer co-star made up for it. Arbaaz Khan disguised himself behind a moustache and was sitting in the Members' Enclosure with his mother Salma and two sisters, Alvira and Arpita."
About the race, the source says, "Salman came at 2.45 and the race began at 3.15. He was on time. When he was in the paddock, tens of thousands of people called out to him. He waved out to the crowds. His horse cried out loud as Salman was too heavy for him and it took him ten minutes to calm down. Then he went to the tracks for a 600-metre race alongside top jockeys B. Prakash, M. Naredu and a few apprentice jockeys. Salman lost his stirrup at the start but he was sporting enough to finish the race. He also won it with a close finish. It was pretty obvious that his victory was pre-decided. In his speech, Salman said that he didn't know how fast he was but the other jockeys had a pretty tough time being slow!"
The source adds, "Sallu spoke about the film. Surprisingly, every time he started his speech in English, the crowd booed him and he had to switch to Hindi. After the event was over, the Hello! Million party followed and was attended by the swish set of the city including Shobhaa De, Avantika Kilachand, the Poonawallas and the Oomerbhoys."
Salman Khan and his family were present at the Hello! Million event at the Turf Club. Salman was there to promote his film while his family was there to show their support.
