people in this forum are probably very young?! I do not mean to offend anyone here so please excuse what I am saying in the right spirit. Any educated, cultured and ambitious girl, pratigya in this instance, would want to marry a like minded man, who is equal in intelligence and most importantly education. Krishna is an uncultured, uneducated goon with regressive ideals. I'd much rather be shamed and remain a spinster my entire life than be saddled with a person who has no education, no culture and no means of income, no matter how cute he is. Just his obsession with Pratigya shows his lack of ability to think rationally. There are no gaurantees in life and by marrying such a man I would be condeming myself to lifetime of uncertainity, hardships and sorrow.
There is no love at first sight, usually it is lust at first sight. Krishna does not know a thing about Pratigya, only that she is beautiful, and he is obsessed with her beauty nothing else. If a man was so obsessed with me as Krishna is with Pratigya, I would be wary and stay away from him. Such obsession for another is not healthy and is least romantic!

to answer ur question ..no, i m not young .. coming to the latter part of ur paragraph .. ppl who are uneducated, uncultured, unamibitious Are human beings as well !! u cannot just leave them ,, or kill them .. there might be a reason or a backstory behind every problem, personality ....i guess here we lack .. there might be ppl who never got CHANce to be educated .. who arr uneducated not coz of their will .. so if A person like krishna ends up with a girl like pratigya *( hoping due to the Destiny ) n Krishna falsl truly in love with her after knowing her .. then there is no harm .. infact that will portray a positive msg ..n btw .. there are many educated ppl .. highly qualified .. who are worst then uneducatedKrishna ..

@sara - Ofcourse uneducated people have a heart and I am not suggesting for a minute that we should kill them or shun them! Neither am I suggesting that they are untouchables. However, in most cases, there is a sea of difference in the culture, background and thought process, especially in this case. There will be a clash of cultures and thinking after marriage and where in fiction, the heroine very conveniently changes the hero for better, it seldom happens in real life. The odds of a marriage of like minded people working is higher. While it is no gaurantee that two people of the same background and opinions will live happily together always, the probability is definately higher.
While I am not for a minute suggesting that we should treat uneducated people like animals, I think shows should be careful in the kind of message they give. The reason I posted (and I seldom do) is in my hometown when I was growing up, there have been a few girls who eloped with their drivers and other uneducated, unemployed road romeos (which is essentially what the male lead is!). Can you imagine what a nightmare they would have walked into? Reality does not mirror fiction. Even if these road romeos were kind hearted, can you imagine the shock and clash in cultures. And I can bet you a million bucks none of these men are reformed!!!!
All I am saying is reality is far removed from fiction, and while I would never treat another human being badly or with disrespect just because he is uneducated, marrying him and spending the rest of my life with him is a strict NO....Being sympathetic is one thing but walking on burning hot coals with your eyes open is yet another thing all together!:)
And being educated does not give you a clean chit, no ofcourse it does not. if you are a bad human nothing can change that and there are plenty of very educated people who suck.
