I am somewhat disturbed with the Balaji teams fixation to pair middle aged men with teenage girls. It is seriously very unhealthy to promote this kind of relationship. Any man 30 or over taking an interest in a teenage girl has himself not reached a level of maturity and probably has had unsuccessful relationships with women close to his own age. We live in a society where we want to discourage the perpetration of young female girls by older men, but producing these kinds of shows and saying this is acceptable does not do much for the welfare of society.
The Shomoli character might appear "strong" but she is still a child. If the writers wanted to make her a mature woman in character, they could have at least had her over the age of 21.
I did write to Balaji regarding this matter, but the emails on their website don't work. I guess I will resort to the old fashioned pen and paper approach.
Also, this show was supposed to highlight the abuse (rape) of female household servants. Instead they made a mockery of the storyline. Was Ekta Kapoor too afraid to have any of her lead female characters "soiled" or was she too afraid to point the finger at the elite in her social circle? She stated somewhere that she did "research" (curious to know what kind of research she did) and found that female household servants were victimized in greater numbers than she realized (is she that naive?).
As for the triangle story line - a geometric mess. Is this all this show is about and has to offer? The initial storyline with them begging on the street, trying to fend for themselves was really interesting but now it's incredibly ridiculous.
Also, why are the lead characters the only members of the household staff in regular clothes? Really foolish looking and shows that not much thinking was done by the producers.
