I am new to this forum I like Balika vadhu as much as you.I am now writing about Change-Over in television Industry. From the days of Hum Log to these new set of shows. There have been some milestones in Television industry which has changed the concept of television serials.

1. Hum Log

2. Buniyaad

3. Banegi apni baat

4.Kyunki saas bhi kabhi bahu thi

5.Jassi jaisi koi nahi

6.Balika Vadhu

Without Balika vadhu all other shows had ended . As Kyunki brought the melodrama of family then jassi jaisi koi nahi was a fresh air of all Indian girl. But after jassi tv had become monotonous .Then comes Balika vadhu which totally change tv industry . This was the first time Real issues were shown

This was the first time background was a village Rajasthan,

Child artise was first time lead

So many many social issues were shown for the first time.

So like all shows above mention so many followed

Like after Balika vadhu there are so many……………following social issues.Balika vadhu still rocks.. what u all thinkl please add something

Welcome to the forum Pushpak. You have summed up the pathbreaing shows on Tv well. BV indeed has been pathbreaking in recent times and thankfully was instrumental in putting the final nail in the coffin on K shows. But unfortunately Indian TV is full of herd mentality so now everyone is chasing rural based shows. This has frankly become tiresomeand I feel as a viewer who wants variety TV doesnt have much to offer to me today. BV too has become a victim of its success with pressure on it to deliver trps. But there is lot of steam in the show and I am waiting for the makers to pull of their socks. They have made a start with Gehna's delivery but lets see if they continue in the same vein.

Welcome Pushpak..Nice post..
BV has been a trendsetter but to be frank all the other shows that followed the same step are nothing less than craps... its so depressing to see the atrocities that the poor are facing..
For me TV is for entertainment and too much of reality dont suit it. We need variety not the same depressing.
I have a difference of opinion about K serials.. Everybody saying Kserail are so sober type... But let me ask you arent these so called changing the socoiey serialstoo are showing the age old Saa-bahu saazish but of course in a different way...
Each show has its own catvhy points and BV is an outstanding creation so far...and
HATS OFF THE GREAT MINDS BEHIND IT👏

I think these psuedo realistic serials are maybe more harmful than K shows. Atleast with K shows we knew this is all fiction. Now if u believe these serial wallahs are women in India are opressed due to one reason or another but mainly because she is a woman! I know its partly true...but cant we have some positive or inspirational stories. I know many girls personally who have come from small town and villages...did well in her studies and today is doing well career wise. But obviously such inspirational stories dont fire the TRP charts so are ignored.

i agree..pseudo real shows are worse than the kitchen politics flossy shows..here u actually expect a decent and logical plot which disappears after a couple weeks..an the way 'real' shows have started cropping up its just getting morose day by day..i wish there was a bit of positivity in the shows..i knw reality is dark bt its not like there is nobody wanting to make a change..if only those efforts were being promoted..

They claim to be changing the society but end up showing more cruelty and people might start thinking there can never be any reform
